New girl - meet Sandy, my Weimaraner pup

Recommended Posts

Well... doggy energy was missing in the petting zoo my house is becoming.

...so we got ourselves Sandy, this lovely girl (cute alert):

She was born on Christmas eve and has just joined our family last week.

She's a lovely girl, who doesn't chase chickens or cats (although Cleo's a bit cautious of her and the hens were a bit startled when Sandy first went in the garden - as she's still calm and little, they're now getting used to her presence).

So, we've got a dog to take for walks, a new personal trainer to help me lose those unwanted stones  although at the moment she's not going out much until she has her full set of jabs (poor thing). :?

But she can come out in this forum to say hello to all of you!

Yes Claret, they do smell nice and feel like silky velvet. ...and I've been assured she'll grow into them too!

Her skin is also a couple of sizes too large for her at the moment, but the holes for the eyes were in the right place so she can see through them OK.

She still hasnt' got 100% the knack of the long legs and big paws and is a tad clumsy when running... she reminds me of my boys when they were toddlers!

I love puppies and before you blink you've got a huge dog - so I'm enjoying the puppyhood.

It reminds me of someone who told me to enjoy my babies while they were tiny... my oldest is about to go to high school next September! He was a tiny babe until what seems last week... now look at those size 6 'paws' - bigger than mine!

Still gorgeous though :anxious:

It's so nice to watch things, pets and children grow... it puts me in a philosophical frame of mind...

Actually our choice was between Weimaraner and GSD... the moulting thing did it though. I was cuddling the sweetest GSD at the vets (took one of our lovebirds in but that's another story) and when we were called I was totally covered in doggy hairs... That's the reason why we chose Sandy... who's at present running around with one of my Debby Bliss skeins of white cotton...!!!:shock::shock:

(Runs after the pup to retrieve her knitting...)
