craftyhunnypie
Aww he is so gorgeous! It was awful for my sister, she's had a really rough time & at one point we could have lost her. She's had blood transfusions galore because Samuel's head was stuck & my sister had to be torn open literally. She has bad tears as well as her C section scar. She lost loads of blood. She hasn't been allowed to hold him properly, feed him, change his nappy or pick him up until tonight. It was awful last night - as she couldn't answer his cries - was drugged up to the eyeballs & was so frustrated at not being allowed to do anything for him. She had a catheter in & these strange casings around her legs with wires & tubes coming from them. I cried my eyes out all the way home, as she looked sooooo ill & the thought that I could have lost my sister in this day & age. Tonight was much better - she is a lot brighter & was able to hold & feed him. He had the most gorgeous outfit on & I've fell in love with him. Not only am I his Aunty, but I have been asked to be his godmother. I'm not religious, so I'll have to be his fairy godmother! He is going to be very spoilt! All photos are on my mums camera as mine doesn't work. Hubby forgot his. He has a couple on his phone that's all. Will get some over the weekend. Looney
Oh my, your poor sister. Sounds like quite an ordeal Hormones tend to kick in a few days after giving birth and these can lead to floods of tears etc etc and if she is still trying to get over the shock of a difficult birth this might hit her doubly hard - hopefully not - but I'm mentioning it due to my personal experience... Thank goodness both mother and baby are ok, I hope they continue to do really well x Congratulations on being a fairy godmother! Bet you are so chuffed to be asked
theherd123
So sorry to hear your sister has had such a rough time of it but her little son sounds delightful. A lady in my post natal group had a difficult labour and needed surgery but she bounced back very quickly so im sure your sister will do the same. Having a beautiful baby to focus on will keep her moving in the right direction. Many congratulations on being an aunty

craftyhunnypie
Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, we can't make visiting today Aunty Em & Uncle Steve have to be elsewhere. grrrr Oh well we shall have to give out extra kisses tomorrow. We took her a piece of her favourite chocolate fudge cake last night & some nice prezzies for herself for a change - she soon scoffed the cake. I shall have to start thinking about a unique Christening gift soon. I'm not buying any of that silver stuff that just gets shoved in a cupboard. ugh. Couperwife
what about something "chickenny" so, you have opted for the boring "aunty emma" have you? well I suppose "aunty craftyhunniepie" is a bit of a mouthful to a little person just learning to speak I can see it being shortened with some interesting results sis must be feeling better if she is demolishing cake which is great news cathy x

Harvey after his grandad who sadly died of cancer & James after his daddy - who's first name is James, but is known as Mattthew. James has been a name in the boys of the family for generations. craftyhunnypie
We were there when the midwife came yesterday. My sister had a very close shave with death. She lost over a quarter of her body's blood. It doesn't bear thinking about, but brings me even closer to my sister. She has just been laughing over the phone because I said he's a good looking baby, not like E.T & not so 'flat' But I've hurt her tummy now with laughing. Oh dear. He slept through from 11.30pm to 5am this morning, he is so good. It's like he knows his mummy had a tough time, so he's being no trouble. He doesn't even cry for long. Everything in my life seems so over the top & dramatic, never straight forward... but it's all true & told the way it is. Welcome to my life.
