Lesley
I forgot the Avipro - I'll go and sort some out for her. She's fine now but sleeping a bit more. Rear end is fine - not dire
Snowy
Oh dear, I suppose all that food has to come out somewhere! I used to have a baby that ate until it was sick (come to think of it he hasn't changed much )Hope she is better soon

chick wiggle
I know i dont post on here often Lesley, but i keep catching up on your photos and im drooling over both Tali and Jazz. i just love the 'sharing' photo, they are both just so so sooooooo adorable , I love reading about Tali growing up and learning to share with Jazz and understand about the fence And, as for getting bored with the photos, well, thats just downright ridiculous More more more
Lewis
Aww She looks like she's grown loads already ... bet you (and she) can't wait until next Monday!
Lesley
No, we can't.......but then there is a two week wait before she can go down where other dogs go - I think it would be easier to just stay home.....but then Tali won't be socialising and that is a mistake we made with Jazz Things haven't progressed with Jazz and Tali together. Jazz is being quite dominant, growling and pinning Tali down but Tali just sees it as a game and will not leave Jazz alone. I'm reading everything I can lay my hands on at the moment. More photos will follow - if I can find time to put the books down and find the camera! .....nearly forgot - the piddling is lessening It is still up to us to take her as she only asks to go out for a poop. She can go through from 11pm to 7am so there isn't a problem with her bladder......we're getting there.
Ziggy
No, we can't.......but then there is a two week wait before she can go down where other dogs go - I think it would be easier to just stay home..... That waiting is endless isn't it... We have a huge garden (by city standards anyway), but even so I just can't wait to be able to take Charlie out... being confined to the garden all the time feels lonely and extremely repetitive... Charlie is having his second jab next Tuesday, and the vet said he'd be allowed to be put down anywhere one week after that... I'm counting the days!!! I take him for drives and have carried him around a couple of times, but he is getting bigger all the time, and I can't hold him still for long... Puppies, especially from big breeds, just don't seem designed to be carried!! My daughter asked the other day, if she could hold Charlie outside at the school gate and I just went 'NOOOO'... he's way too big, heavy and fidgety for her to manage, and I could just picture them both in a heap on the floor!! The Dogmother
Ruby's like that - can you imagine a dog with legs the length of a giraffe trying to get in your lap?

Lesley
I'm going to be bald very soon......... Tali and Jazz had both been asleep in their crates.....I took Tali out for a wee, brought them both through to the lounge, remembered that I needed a clean blanket for Jazz and went to the hall cupboard..........20 seconds it took me......... I came back to find my address book and all assorted loose pieces of paper all over the floor, Jazz's new lead which I was waiting to try on her on the floor with dog dribble all over it, a book with teeth marks in it and Tali poised on top of a tallish side table ready to launch herself off.........which she did as I approached - she went skittering across the floor!!! She seems fine but it's not the best thing for her to do This morning she couldn't manage to jump on the sofa........now she can She played with her toys for a minute then calmly went and piddled on the floor We're just going to give Jazz a shower........ - Tali is going to help
Ziggy
Tali is going to help Dare I ask?
Lesley
Weeeeeellllllll........ We both stripped off and went for it!! - Jazz is very good when being showered and I held Tali on my lap so that she could watch. When Jazz was bundled off in a towel and put in her crate I threw a handful of kibble in the shower tray and Tali dived in She was a bit surprised to find water coming down on her but she must have found it a bit warmer than all the evil rain we've had all day....... She had just a dab of shampoo and a rinse off and was fine. The easiest part of the day
Chook n Boo Mum
I bet she'll sleep well this evening Sha x
The Dogmother
Sounds like fun Lesley Ruby doesn't mind showers either and boy does she need them at times! I usually hose her down outside when she's really muddy, but her rough coat clings to mud and it gets in her long webbed toes.
Lesley
I bet she'll sleep well this evening Sha x You think so?????? - she's trying to chew Carl's hands off at the moment..........in fact........she's just piddled on the rug It will soon be bedtime
Snowy
Oh dear Lesley - it is worse than having a new born isn't it? (I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you, honest Sorry, can just imagine the shock at the amount of destruction in so little time) Never mind, it could be worse. It could be me (Sorry )
Lesley
- I shall get your boys to nag you into having a puppy......one that likes chasing balls We took both dogs over to MIL's yesterday- they both behaved They had some of the white hide chews (always more acceptable then Jazz's favourite pizzle stick treats! ) and played nicely Carl took Tali out to the garden three times but she preferred to perform on the kitchen floor - could have been worse.....it could have been on the carpet. We also bought a small muzzle for Tali yesterday - we tried it in the evening when Jazz gets a bit fed-up with the constant biting...........she looks like she's wearing a gas mask We only used it when she would not be distracted from lunging at Jazz and it worked really quickly. We had a much better evening.
The Dogmother
Glad that the muzzle worked Lesley - she'll soon grow out of it though - they're like toddlers, who chew on things because their gums are itching. Have you thought of using Jazz's spray collar on her when she bites? Tali won't like it much, but it will work very quickly on a young dog. Lesley
I don't think it goes small enough - I'll check. The muzzle only needs to fit for a week or so.....she got the message last night and they've been a bit better today.
The Dogmother
Have a look, mine goes small enough to fit on a friends JRT.
Snowy
I'dve happily swapped the boys for Tali after the tippex incident today Serves me right for laughing! Glad she is learning though, Jazz will probably take to her much better when she is less of a pain! And this house does not need any encouragement to get a puppy thank you! Alan is still talking about getting a pup if we don't find a suitable rescue!
Lesley
Hmmmmm - piddle......or Tippex.........think I'll stick with Tali
Snowy
Hmmmmm - piddle......or Tippex.........think I'll stick with Tali At least piddle washes off, whereas tipp-ex appears to be rather permanent! This boy seems attracted to long lasting stuff - last time it was red permanent marker
Lesley
Well...........we have had quite a reasonable weekend with The Piddler, she has started going to sit by the door Half the time it's so she can go out and play but we always let her out and encourage her to wee. Sh's peed on command since she'd been here two days but would come back in and pee on the floor as well. That was bad enough when she squatted and left a puddle but recently she took to starting in one place and traipsing around all over whilst widdling I was really wondering what I'd taken on - especially after one memorable incident where she covered the whole of the kitchen floor ........followed the next day where she objected to being enclosed in a puppy pen while I was busy for a few minutes........she piddled in three places on her bed in the lounge! She has never pooped inside the house and only wet her bed once when we left her too long so we've just persevered, she goes all night without needing to go so we know she doesn't have a problem. She'll never learn anything from Jazz who has always had the bladder of an elephant and has always been fine until it's her walktime. She doesn't go to the door or anything like that. I sent photos to the breeder and she replied that one of Tali's sisters is a bit of a piddler as well ( ) She says she should sort herself around 16 weeks.......only two weeks to go then. We had no incidents at all over the weekend. Funnily enough, it was at the same time as the two of them decided to call a bit of a truce and become slightly more friendly. I was also despairing of them ever becoming friends. The weekend was slightly more friendly We really need them to share the large bed area that has been Jazz's for three years, Tali is becoming too big for the puppy crate and I really didn't relish the thought of the large crate in the middle of the hallway. I've decided to divide the area with a puppy pen panel, hopefully it will be short term and then I can fill the whole area with a large padded bed. It's a bit like a long-winded introducing of new hens Hmmmm.....I wonder if I could swap her for half a dozen new layers Edited December 14, 2009 by Guest
The Dogmother
Bless her, they'll be firm friends soon enough Glad to hear that the piddling is getting better.
