Seagazer
I love Christmas too but its boiling hot here, cookie is having vapours its so hot. I've just been to my local garden centre and they have the Christmas bit all sectioned off behind big red curtains - so exciting! I'm determined to get ahead this year. It will be easier now the YS is older and understands if you know what I mean edited for spelling
bluekarin
I have only got as far as making a start on my pressie list. Well, if you don't include the mincemeat I made earlier this year that's maturing away in the cupboard. Not actually bought anything, but am starting to get a little bit excited at the thought of it. Though that might just be due to the possibility of staying at home on Christmas day and not having to drive anywhere and lay the table and do the food how I like
Valkyrie
Just thought - now I'll have to finish that blasted tablecloth. Bah humbug!
Egluntyne
I did glance at a 'Where's Stig' book at the supermarket this morning and found myself thinking that it would make a good stocking filler for one of my boys. I'm holding Cinnamon entirely responsible.
Chickvic
I love Christmas - but don't feel particularly Christmassy yet Haven't even thought about presents
Valkyrie
Well today MIL coming for Christmas has been discussed between DD and I, and the general agreement is that we don't want her here. Democratic vote (DS doesn't count and OH isn't home yet), so the nay's have it. Now I am looking forward to Christmas. Although FIL is nice, but can't have one without the other. Oh well, sacrifices have to be made somewhere for our sanity.
chickenNutter
no no NO!!!!!!! Stop it! This is all wrong! It is still September, I haven't put my summer clothes away yet. You people should all be banished until 2 weeks before Xmas, which is when I start thinking about it. All I can say is you are obviously not middle aged mothers - if you were, you would know that Xmas is nothing but hard work. And it makes me ill. (3 weeks lost to flu last Xmas, and that was before the pigs started joining in). I am starting a petition to keep Xmas off this forum until December! Anyone join me? ubereglu
I've vaguely had a few Christmassy thoughts. Mostly making things for friends as their Christmas pressies!

craftyhunnypie
I bought the QVC pick of the day today for making my Christmas cards. I also bought some crafty bits the other week for my cards too. I started sewing teeny weeny poofie cushions for the mini jar pincushions earlier. So sweet. Apart from that no shopping started as yet. I have my crochet cotton ready for making some snowflakes, it's all glittery. Emma.x
Lesley
I did glance at a 'Where's Stig' book at the supermarket this morning and found myself thinking that it would make a good stocking filler for one of my boys. I'm holding Cinnamon entirely responsible. I have bought a "Where's Bin Laden" book already - should keep my son quiet on the day.
helenp
I bought 2 packs of charity Christmas cards at the weekend. Thought I'd get ahead. The outdoor lights are still on the conifers, just need to plug them in... might give them a test over the weekend

PurpleTree
Matalan had a load of Christmas things out last week, next to all the Haloween things. I've got Daniel's birthday, and mine, to think about before Christmas. I have started to try and think of things to buy the children though, it won't be long before family start asking me what they can get them. I did buy a pack of Chrimbo cards in a charity shop the other week though, they had Santa on a bike on them.
Valkyrie
OH is in Harrods Christmas section again and he said he's feeling rather Christmassy himself now. I told him it's too soon. He asked if I wanted any baubles - and as I have said to Spacey - he likes the awful things. So if I allowed him to choose he would bring home expensive awful things. Griffin
We're having Catherine of Aragon on our tree, I bought her at the Tower of London http://www.historicroyalpalaces.com/Year-round-Christmas-Christmas-tree-decorations-Catherine-of-Aragon-tree-decoration_171_194_2458-Gift-ideas-basket-for-him-her.html

Valkyrie
What! Not a fairy? It's hard to find a nice fairy nowadays - we have an angel but I call her my fairy.
craftyhunnypie
I'm hoping to crochet some snowflakes to go on my tree. I shall have to spray them with stiffener or else they will look a bit naff. I really need to replace my Austrian decorations that are made of straw & I'd also like some painted glass balls. Manchester Xmas market should have some for me hopefully! Emma.x
Lewis
Mother bought a few packs of cards this weekend but I'm not Christmassy yet ... we have mine + moms birthdays a few weeks before, then it can be Christmas Last year I was away at Nottingham uni for a few days so it wasn't Christmassy at all, then went to the Turkey farm with a christmas turkey hat on, and had people wishing us Merry Christmas all day ... then it felt like christmas
