Edited 8pm-Aspro, Pitsilatha & the NEW Pitsilatha!!PICS+PICS

Recommended Posts

Wooo! Hoooo! :D:D:D

We've got our new hennies.

They are a Coral and a Maran Cuivre. The Coral, Aspro, really does sheen with a tint of coral in the white feathers and the Maran Cuivre, Pitsilatha, is strikingly marked.

Here are some pics within 30 mins of them arriving at their new home:

What a miserable start to their outside life though (wet & horrible!). Think they're shocked as a result of being in a barn until now!:lol::lol:

Edit: PS. Please see our post at 1.43pm for explanation of heading question.

Thanks. That is fascinating. I was assuming that Aspro was named after the tablets. :D

Let's hope it doesn't become a headache integrating them : We'd need an Aspro then.:lol::lol::lol:

Just editing the post as we've looked on the Farm website for something and noticed that the Maran Cuivre looks more like a Magpie

Have e-mailed the supplier to check. The barn was a bit dark so we couldn't check the colour well at the time.

Perhaps it's a case of magpie in the nest rather than cuckoo :lol::lol:

Oh well, she's beautiful anyway :D:D:D Might have to change the name! Decided! If she's a Magpie then she will be called Kissa (Gk for Magpie!):lol::lol:

Thank you all. Here is the update:

Pitsilatha IS a Maran Cuivree with very unusual extra white on her head.

However :(:( we had to take her back this evening as on close examination she had a small cross shaped gash on the back of her neck which, although a couple of days old, was laying open showing flesh underneath :vom::cry::cry:

We rang Mary at Churchman's and she waited till we got there (working the rest of the week) at 6.20pm. Well done Churchman's :clap::clap:

She was shocked at the wound and very apologetic - actually the hen hadn't shown any sign of discomfort, but does need treatment. Mary's going to do this.

So... without further ado....please welcome the NEW Pitsilatha, who arrived at her new home at 7pm tonight :!::D:D
