Not bored at all, I promise you. I look forward to every update . They still look completely scrumcious, and I just love the way the bigger girls are keeping an eye on them .

Thanks again everyone for your lovely comments Poor little Angel is still sneezing even after 3 days with citricidal and little sweetpea now seems to have a poorly eye Shes keeping it closed. We have popped in some antibiotic eye drops so lets hope they do the trick

They are gorgeous Fingers crossed that Angel and Sweetpea are soon better. Have you tried cold tea on the eye?

Oh No! I am sorry the hear that. I hope they are better soon both of them. Tea is good for the eye. What can have happend, do you think she has been pecked by one of the others, they do like to peck at eyes when they are young.

I can also vouch for the cold tea treatment. One of my girls got a bit of straw in her eye, and it irritated it, but bathing it twice a day in cold tea cleared it up in 3 days.

Ooo, not heard of the cold tea remedy! Do i just hold a cold tea bag against her eye or something else?

I make a cup of black tea, then let it cool. I then dip cotton balls in the cold tea and gently swab over the eye until the goo is gone. it never seems to irritate them even when it goes into their eyes, so i don't think it stings them, and it certainly lifts off any crusty stuff that has formed if their eyes are weeping.

 

I use about 4 cotton balls each time, morning and night, and a fresh cup of tea each time, just remember to make the tea ahead of schedule so it has time to cool .

And if your chickens are like mine make sure you don't drop the cotton wool as otherwise they will all try to eat it

Oh yes , forgot about that. That happened to me the first time . I was putting the used pieces of cotton wool down in a pile as I had used them, then seconds later, Lilly my light sussex was off, and running around with them in her mouth . Chase and chicken wrestling ensued , but I won in the end .

Thanks for the cold tea tip everyone, managed to do it today and once i had her on my lap she didnt seem to mind it at all, i imagine it must be very soothing for her. There is no discarge from the eye but when she does open it, it looks a bit sore inside so it could have been a well aimed peck from one of the others maybe. Apart from the eye though she seems absolutely fine.

Excellent news - have to admit to hoping the little one would improve with the tea remedy (its also very useful if you have hayfever of sore eyes after working on a PC )

Another week older and its halloween

Soo, of course pumpkins are obligatory

 

The babies are not impressed of the big orange scary thing! 'Quick, girls, hide! '
