Jules.
Some of you may know that hubby has been poorly these last 12 months on & off with his ME/CFS. It's come to a head recently & he is being made redundant from the middle of this month but he's in no fit state to seek work yet, having had another bad relapse which started in August. Things have been tight too moneywise as he only gets paid SSP & I currently work 2 days a week. I sold my last month to help us out. But, the mortgage repayment protector has come to the rescue yet again, but the income protection policy refuses to pay out as its an existing condition ( understandably) so we've just cancelld that one & will be £21/month better off now So its role-reversal time I recently asked my employer for full-time permanent hours & its been agreed form 1st November, & I'm currently being paid for the extra hours I'm working this month, too. In this day & age I presume its not usual for employers to up contracts to full time, & I'm very grateful. Had this not happened I was going to look for a part-time job elsewhere for the days I was not working at my present place of work. So I won't be around as much on here, & I am doing my last hen party next Saturday as I can't manage them & full-time work. I will be required to work Saturdays for 4 hours, that's the only drawback, but its not every Saturday & I wil get a whole day off in the wekk to compenate, so I can still take DS2 to school. I'll find out my Saturday rota soon, & I hope it won't clash with the Manchester Christmas markets meet

Valkyrie
My brother had ME for some 30 years - he reckons he is free of it now, although colds will still hit him hard, so I understand what you are going through. He was lucky to work for a very understanding employer and times were made available for him - flexi of sorts. When he felt good, he worked and built up enough time for days off when he was ill again. His sleeping times were kaput, so he went in early and came home to sleep in the afternoon and by adopting a certain routine in that way, he was able to adapt and recover gradually. At least by the change your OH will get the rest that he so badly needs to recover. Takes time, but light is at the end of the tunnel as long as he doesn't overdo it. Sending you all hugs.
