Another Bad Wife!

Recommended Posts

Hubby fell of his moped the other day

Now I am not terribly sympathetic to injuries and illnesses - anyone who has worked for me will testify to that! So I checked the moped for damage and that was about it

Anyway hubby has been grumping around the house for a few days holding up his arm like a sick puppy holds up its paw and I have been spectacularly brisk with him

I finally relented today and took him to the minor injuries clinic at the hospital today who took one look at him and sent him to casualty

Even in casualty I joked about an on the spot fine for hypochondriacs

Four hours and some x rays later they have decided he has cracked ribs and has a very bad shoulder and back injury and he is sitting here arm in sling, with ten days off work and physio sessions booked in

I feel so guilty :(

if he is lucky I might do the washing up!

Oh Tasha! :shameonu::lol:

A few years ago my OH was complaining of chest pain and I kept telling him it was muscular. Eventually I got fed up of his moaning and sent him to the GPs. They told him it was angina!!! Boy did I feel guilty (but only for a couple of weeks -when he went to the cardiac clinic they confirmed it was actually muscle pain  ) He didn't half milk it for those two weeks though

Hope OH feels better soon xxx

:lol: you sound like me Tasha - having a high pain threshold, I brush stuff like that off. Phil knows better than to whine now (good job he doesn't live heer really) and Rosie gets a plaster and that's it

You both sound a bit like this!

I love that sketch! Just chop the bally thing orf!

I bought a moped years ago to get me to work a brand new one but

I kept falling off it so I got rid of it but I lost an awful lot of money.

Joy x

Thats what I am worried about here, he is not exactly confident on the roads, he never learned to drive, mind you I only learned 5 years ago so there is hope for him yet

I will get lynched here but i wonder if men possibly whinge more than us ladies who often suffer pain with monthlies, childbirth etc. And we still even if feeling dreadful care for, cook clean and do school runs whislt feeling like death. Sorry boys but you do go on rather. I can be unsymapthetic to OH especially when he tells me my stiff neck is an injury and not a viral infection. I'venot even had an injury.

Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that most men (and Rosie!) are moaning minnies. Except me ex who slashed his knee open and refused to get it seen to ('just a scratch' ) so I had to steri-strip it for him.

Phil's not good with pain at all, but knows better than to moan to me  says she who walked around with a broken ankle for two days before getting it plastered.. 'but it hardly hurts':roll:

Ouch, poor guy! But I'm a bit like that. Several moons ago OH was putting in a chandelier (nothing fancy, just an iron lookalike thing with 3 pretend candles) on the landing. He turned off the electricity and set to work. I did hear him kind of laughing "whoo hoo whoo hoo hoo" Kind of the old Daffy Duck looney laugh - which is the norm here as someone is always jumping out on him, so I ignored it. Turns out he was electrocuting himself - he'd turned off the downstairs lights by mistake. He was rather miffed that I didn't come to see if he was alright - and when I found out I burst out laughing - insult to injury that was.
