fluffyfeet
I've been meaning to post about this but didn't want to tempt fate.... After being out of work for the last 18 months, my OH is back in full time employment! He was in the building trade, which was hit badly anyway, and we also live in the West Mids which was apparently hit hardest. We've managed to get by on my part time money and the bit of Family Credit we qualified for and I have realised how much money we must have been wasting before this. He is now in his 4th week with a small company that does rather posh fitted kitchens and bedrooms, and he is loving it. OH also lost his Dad earlier this year too and with one thing and another I think we will both be glad to see the back of 2009 - annus horribilis I think..... Any how - onwards and upwards in 2010!!!!! Dawn x

docsquid
That's fantastic news, and I'm so pleased for you. It has been a very difficult time for the building trade, and we know a couple of neighbours who, despite being very skilled, have simply found the work has dried up. On and up for 2010! Cinnamon
Brilliant news We are in the building trade too, self employed,& have had an awful year Had to lay off staff, just a one man band now, & had a spate of customers cancelling their jobs too, but things are looking up a bit for the new year. We won't employ anyone again though,as its taught us that we can stay small & local,& hubby is happier that way (I am too,as I do the books!)
