We have to wear masks and i'm wearing a dress for the first time in years! DH is wearing black tie. Seagazer
For the first time in years OH and I are going out on NYE. We 'won' a charity auction prize at a ball in November for a NYE cruise on the Thames, dinner, disco and booze thrown in. It moors up so you can watch the fireworks apparently too. Would love to say I'm really looking forward to it but its the bother of getting back home and OH and I are coming down with colds. Once we're there I'm sure we'll get into the spirit of it. It'll be nice to be doing something though as the older kids are normally out so its just us and YS and my mum.
chickenNutter
Having a pants time with miserable 80 year old FIL who is like Victor Meldrew only without the laughs. Will go to bed early to avoid letting him get me too depressed. We call him the 'Dementor' out of the Harry Potter Books, as he sucks all the happiness and life out of you and leaves you an exhausted shell! Sadly we are stuck with him for every special occasion as he is on his own, and my OH is an only child. Very jealous of all you lot having a jolly time

meezers
We are off to see Avatar this afternoon - usually go Christmas eve, but the roads were too bad. Then we'll sit in front the TV with lots of party nibbles- stocked up on the 'party in for £10 at M&S. We usually watch the fireworks from around the world, then bedtime. docsquid
Just us, and the cats, at home watching Jools Holland. Tomorrow neice and nephew are coming and we are going for a walk round our wildlife site as they've never been to it before as they live a fair way away. That will be brilliant! Daphne
Drinks party last night, dinner party tonight...this giddy social whirl and 2-past-midnight bedtimes in a row is unheard of so I'm making the most of it! abwsco
My DD's are working until 10 tonight and even they don't know if they can be bothered going out at aged 19 and nearly 18. DH and I were going to go out to our lovely local Indian but today is the first day I've felt well from a chest infection that youngest DD gave me for Christmas Think we'll just get a takeaway and crack open The Soprano's box set we got for Christmas. Charlottechicken
I usually go to bed before midnight, not a drinking and party person, but I'm watching a few items of jewellery on ebay so I may be up all night buying diamonds
chelsea
Quiet night in for us 2 with the pooch, steak supper for him and pizza for me with a bottle of Cava. I hate new years eve - always have. It's the looks you get when you tell friends that you are staying in that make me a bit it's like you have to go out! If you are going out or staying in I wish everyone a lovely evening and Happy New Year
