So pretty. But are they really an unfriendly breed? Or can you train them up with lots of handling and stroking of those lovely fluffy feathers?

No, they are very friendly - our buff was scatty though. The more you handle the better they get, although I think in hindsight I should have started with perhaps a bantam version - they are such monster flappers when you pick them up - and if you've only handled a wood pigeon before it's a big difference - especially when you get clocked on the nose by a wing.

I have the scars on my arms to prove it this morning!! Whilst removing the evil giant pancake (Brandy, buff orps) from the cube nest box she did a bok, flap and wriggle and the ends of a feather caught me and left a nice long scratch! Once she was out and tucked in my arms she was snuggled and purring

 

My other Orps are very friendly, much easier to tame than my hybrids

They are lovely, they've got so big They're probably as big as Kellogs (My orp boy!)

 

Colour wise,

 

Bumble looks to me like a Blue x Buff as she nearly has the same colouring as a Blue Buff Colombian which is formed using those two colours.

 

 

 

Pepsi is either the same as Bumble but just slightly different colouring or maybe a Blue x Gold Laced.

they are sisters so I guess just different variations of blue x buff but who knows and I dont care cos I loves them! but I love pepsis feather markings, Bumble has them too but not clear in that photo
