So, I'm off work, ordered to rest with a chest infection which has also messed up my diabetes

 

This meant only one thing.... Sit down and craft!

 

I can't share one photo as that is for the Christmas craft swap

 

But I can share the jumper I have finished

 

 

I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out

Gosh, probably 8 hours on the back, 8 on the front, 2 hours per sleeve, then 3 hours to sew up and do the neckline...... So about 23 hours

I have been tempted with a snowflake one, but I am a novice with colour work, and I need complete quiet for working to a colour pattern

 

maybe next year

 

I'm currently knitting a matching hat with leftover wool to have a nice matching set

 

I'll then decide what I'm going to do next.

 

By rights I should do scarfs for my nephew and niece to go with hats I have already knitted them, but then I am tempted to knit a cardy with some really nice wool I had as an eBay bargain

But it's a whole wasted day near enough

 

I know someone asked me would I knit them a jumper and they'd pay my time, when I told them how long it would take they promptly changed their minds gosh even on minimum wage that would be well over £100, and wool is expensive.

Cheaper to buy cheap knits in ASDA

 

However, I do love having my Debs originals. I have a few cardys, several jumpers and two house dresses that I have done over time

Last few years I have been making little christmas ornaments for my colleagues instead of giving them all a christmas card. Last year it was Christmas trees, the year before if was snowflakes.

I wasn't actually planning to make any this year, but then a colleague told me that she loved her ornament last year and thought is was so special... Oh well...

 

So this year is the year of the heart! Went way overboard because I kept adding people to the list. "If I give him a heart, I can't forget her... Etc..."

Thanks! It's crochet. I don't do knitting. A free pattern too. I normally just scout the internet to find something suitable and this is quite fast to make to.

They are lovely! I do the same, but mount my little crochet items onto a simple card. That way they have a card for Chrisstmas and then can remove the crochet decoration and use it the next year. I've only done snowflakes, Attic24 pattern as its super fast, and its amazing ho wmuch it can vary with differing yarns.

I stick mine on a card too. Well, a piece of thick paper, on which I write my Christmas wish for them.

Yeah, but he is quite small. Maybe 7 cm high? Fits in the palm of my hand. Rather straight forward pattern, but I thought he was cute too. Make him a little scarf, to keep warm.

Internet is my friend! Almost never buy any patterns anymore. The only downside is that some patterns are less than perfect. But this one worked quite well. I just added a tail, to make the owl stand easier.

I'm still plodding with the quilt! And bought lots of fabric on sale from the US a couple of weeks ago - I think the most paid up was $6.50. Some were $4. All florals and hubby rather liked the choices so I sent off for some more oops my bad - can't do anything with them yet but hey ho, into the stash they go
