feemcg
Good luck with the hatch - its always so exciting. Don't think you can sex Cotswold Legbars at hatch as they're not autosexing i.e. not a true Legbar, but lovely all the same (aren't they all!). Mrs T
Good Luck with your hatching! It's so exciting! could not believe it when our first chick hatched. We had an incubator set up in my son's classroom. It was amazing to go in on the Wednesday morning and to see a little beak popping out of an egg! Tom and Barbara
aaaargh nothing yet! i was sat next to the broody house potting my veg seeds when she came off to feed and tried to sneak a look while she was off the eggs but she screamed at me so i slunk away lol
The Dogmother
I know - but won't tell Me too My silence will cost you Martin! If you tap the eggs a couple of days before they're due to hatch, you can hear the chick cheeping and tapping inside - it's beautiful. chocchick
aaaargh nothing yet! i was sat next to the broody house potting my veg seeds when she came off to feed and tried to sneak a look while she was off the eggs but she screamed at me so i slunk away lol How disappointing, but I suppose a useful instinct. Looking forward to the hatch... and photos?
craftyhunnypie
Oh I'd love to hatch my own, but I'd probably end up with a load of cockerals, which are still lovely, but my neighbours wouldn't like it! Anyway, my sister has got duck eggs in my incubator at the moment! We hatched guinea fowl at her house last year & they are now huge & strutting their stuff round the farm! 20 more days to go until ducks hatch! A farm shop near me ( Wheelock Hall) has some chicks. they are quite growing up now, feathers & combs are growing well. But they are soooooo cute! I'm really envious! Tom and Barbara
what incubator do you have? i've wondered about getting one a few times
craftyhunnypie
We have a Brinsea R20. It is brilliant as it is fully automatic & so easy! We got it of ebay last year.
feemcg
I use a Brinsea Octagon 20 DX - auto turning and maintains a very stable temp and humidity. I've had 2 good hatches (see below) and have Frizzles in at the moment. I'd still like one of my girls to go broody though, that would be lovely to see.
