Just cooking tea  someone should be cooking tea for you! Don't overdo it, I did and got a severe telling off from the midwife

Look forward to seeing the photos, I love babies :D

Take it easy, enjoy Raven, they grow so fast

Cooking tea! No - get back to bed (or the sofa) and cuddle up with your little one. :shameonu:

I had a dream start with my last baby. My hubby was at home so he looked after the older ones and I spent the first few days spending as much time relaxing in bed (with a radio, tv, books and internet available if I wanted) as possible just enjoying being on my own with my little girl. The bed became a big comfy safe nest for us both.

I'd spend some time out of the room with my other children and have a quick tidy (sorted the dishwasher that type of thing) but felt no pressure to get back into the swing of things if I didn't want to.

If it wasn't for the lack of sleep and awful afterpains it would have been perfect.

I think 19/10/2010 is a pretty cool DOB.

I won't post the images on here as they will then look small on photobucket if I resize them suitably for the forum :D

aunty Clare there is a footsie photo just for you

The day: well, after emergence at 2am, the midwife left at 4.30 and then my parents went at 5ish. They arrived impromptu after hubby phoned to spread the good news. Then my sister arrived as she couldnt wait til after work to see her new niece! She left at 7.30 leaving all four of us wide awake.

9am and my best friend turned up and stopped to two hours just oggling the baba.

11am, and I had a proper cuddle and a good feed with baby, she has taken to breastfeeding superbly just like her older brother did and has been having a feed every 3-4 hours, whenever she wants.

12 noon and mum text to invite us all to the pub for celebratory lunch. Despite being tired, having lunch cooked and then cleared away for me sounded good, and we thought why on earth not - so the family went to the village local and got to know each other. Raven woke up and spent an hour and a half just staring about contentedly, both having cuddles and sat in the c"Ooops, word censored!"at. Mummy was adequately impressed at such nonchalance - and got t oeat dinner with both hands, a very unexpected bonus.

Marc (OH)'s mum doesnt drive and obviously wanted to see babs, but I didnt see the point in him driving to pick her up, then to ours, and then a return journey - so went from the pub to visit Nana, and then stopped off at my sister-in-laws as she had her baby via c-section a week last wednesday. Cousin met cousin, much crying happened on both parts, then much snoozing.

Finally managed to prize the chld from Nana, and drove home calling at Morrisons for milk and biscuits - as we bought plenty for visitors, but then with the lil miss being so late we kind of..well... i ate them.

Got home to see my sis and her OH pulling into the driveway... and then finally, at 7.30pm, we have been left alone. DS was promtly deposited into bed at 8pm sharp, and we have spent the last hour watching masterchef and hubby has been snuggling baby while I had photo uploading fun.

Tomorrow we have a visit from the midwife and also a docs appointment to go for a paeds check. other than that - I am not leaving the house, and intend on tidying round but nothing more. I may not even wash.

yay!!

Oooohhh, she is gorgeous Cally, so sweet... those starfish hands and the weeny feet. I just love tiny babies :D:D:D I see that Big Brother managed to glue his bottom to the seat long enough for a photo to be taken - he looks very proud - tell him that Aunty Clare says to help Mummy out!

Enjoy the rest Cally and wishing you a speedy recovery.

we have a baby that doesnt sleep! faulty! :o

taking it in turns to sleep, but since hubby has to drive us to hosital tomorrow, i've gone over my slot and have let him snooze since 11.30 now. seeing how long i can go before i need to rest again.

just enjoyed an hour of skin to skin cuddles - next best thing to sleep. currently we're mid-cry tho :? and it's too soon for me to know what it is she's asking me for. I'll be glad when my milk comes in properly xx
