ali-s
A light dusting of something here, not sure if it is snow or hail stones as I could hear something hammering against the window a short while ago. I have been looking on the Traffic Scotland website at the live eye cameras. Lots of snow in the area and also some snow gates closed. Seagazer
I was just watching the BBC news when a 4 x 4 type car drove up to a roundabout with ONLY part of its windowscreen cleared of snow and all of the other windows still covered in snow. What an idiot! Hope everybody who has snow is safe and warm.
Chucky Mama
I hope that all the snow for the year is finished by January as we are getting rid of our 4 x 4 then Our village gets pretty much cut off when it snows unless you have one - mind you our mini is not a bad drive in the snow. ali-s
Snow still lying when I got up this morning. It is mostly hail stones we are getting now. I didn't settle last night until DS got home from work around 8.30pm. He only passed his driving test a month ago and bought his first car just over a week ago so was feeling nervous about him driving in snowy conditions on his own even though the journey is only 3 miles. A young lad who works with us both has a 25 mile journey home on a moped. DS said the sensible supervsior sent him home early. Jack was going to offer him a lift home but then thought he needed a little more driving practice before attempting long drives in winter conditions. I will see the lad tomorrow and tell him he is very welcome to come here if the weather is bad until his parents are able to get him or he can stay overnight if he wishes. He must have been frozen last night going home , it took him a good while to thaw out yesterday when he started his shift at midday.

Peaches
Snowing here in Richmond and it settled overnight - now more snow - not too keen today as I've got to get to work in Bedale and we live on a steep hill Chickens are absolutely outraged at their first sighting of snow and all ran back into the WIR protesting very loudly! Read that and thought Richmond in London - was about to get quite excited! But we are too far south for snow . Were forecast some for Saturday, but they have changed their minds about that now... I got snowed in one year down your way Beach Chick - I can remember walking along the sea wall saying to my SIL that it was so cold I was sure it would snow. Next day it was so high there was no way I was going to attempt to drive home in my little Renault 5. Must have been about 15 years ago or so, I remember my eldest kids thinking it was fab to be spending a few more days at their aunt and uncle's house. Blackrocksrock
We woke to about 4 - 5 inches this morning - its been trying on and off all day and the sun came out and is back in again but was beautiful on the snow. The roads are a bit better now as its had a chance to melt with the salt and although its showery hopefully it will not dump too much more but there is more forecast later on this weekend.
