How is your head?

Recommended Posts

I am feeling a tad delicate...................

Totally my own fault - I adore Champagne, but it gives me a vile hangover.

Having a glass of red wine too was probably a mistake.

The bedtime G&T most certainly was

Still,its only once a year.

Hope you all had a good night last night & are feeling better than I am :lol:

Oh dear - I know exactly how you feel. Hope you feel better soon.

This will probably sound a bit smug but I am quite chipper this morning. We stayed overnight at a local hotel where we were at a masked ball with a group of mates. I had had a bit of a hangover earlier in the week so was anxious not to repeat the experience so drank lots and lots of water and got to bed at a reasonably sensible time.

My OH - on the other hand - was drinking some kind of Red Bull cocktail and played poker until about 6 am so is currently feeling a tad jaded. It is fair to say that I am not being terribly sympathetic - although I have not started vacuuming just yet! Mwah Mwah Mwah!!!

Another smug one here I'm afraid. Had a relatively quiet one at home although we saw the new year in with a glass of bubbly. We had been invited to a party but had no child care for our 6 year old son so it was just us and our 13 year old neice playing wii

I have to say I like this feeling and I really enjoyed the evening...probably the best in years...now theres a thought... am I getting old or just boring

Feeling fine, me, OH, DS (16) and DD (9) had our own little NYE party, BBQ food, music and disco balls (& silly Mum/Dad dancing!), Jenga, Chocolate fountain, saw the New Year in in the Hot tub watching fireworks and lots of chinese lanterns, then back in to watch London fireworks that we had SKY+.........boring to some, but we had a lovely time and got a lie in this morning too! :D

Head is fine, it's my stomach that's suffering :( . Had friends round for lunch yesterday - lasagne and crumble easy for 2 families. Had intended having a night in but then were invited to a dinner party - friend is a chef so you don't turn that down :D . We had another big meal - fab food but right now I don't think I ever want to eat again...

I hope you all feel better soon.

No celebrating for me last night. Looking after hubby who has pneumonia :(

Sorry to hear that - hope he feels better soon.

We had a lovely unexpected night. Stayed in intending to carry on decorating but then, OS and girlfriend decided to stay in too so had a lovely meal from my Nigella book (Kitchen), coupled with Poinsettia cocktails, wine and champagne. Asked my mum and dad if they wanted to come over and SURPRISE they said yes, so dad had one small whiskey at midnight - doesnt drink due to all his meds, whereas OS managed to get my mum quite tipsy. We all played Articulate and had a brilliant time - so impressed and surprised by my folks - my OS can wrap my mum round his little finger so to speak- so he can always get away with things I would not dare to try. Amazingly my head is fine- must have burned up all the calories and everything else through laughing so much.

Had been invited to a party which was cancelled due to illness. SIL was invited to a party that got cancelled due to a Domestic. Refugees from both wreckages met down the pub then went back to the farm and made serious whoopee. My husband has done something to his ankle, I have a head like a Tom&Jerry cartoon and a distinct memory of doing a dance-off to the Big Butts song and some crowdsurfing. We may be ordering a takeaway.

Happy NY all xxx

Feeling less billiuous (a granny word - conjures up hordes of belching folk - I am not one of them I can assure you) having cuppa and bickie and casserole in oven. TV is dire - had snooze on sofa and woke up to find I had been covered by todays paper by the kids - obviously thought I looked like a tramp.

Had quite a bit last night, but think tonight will be worse. Not out tonight, but the kitchen already looks like a bar. The wine is out, Baileys already consumed a bit, Cherry Brandy is out, Port is out & Cava chilling in the fridge along with a few beers. Not to mention the amount of booze in my Xmas cake & trifle.

Head fine this morning - but reckon our mega Indian soaked it all up last night & our bacon & cheese oatcake breakfast. Has to be done after a night on the booze.

 My head is fine ...... as OH on nights, so woke to the sound of fireworks last night, watched a few chinese lanterns float by and then back to sleep. Boys have swim training tomorrow at 8am - so early night for all, although I have had a few glasses of red to toast the new year

Having had a two-day migraine earlier in the week (not due to drinking although probably connected with four days of eating rubbish, sleeping at the wrong times and generally overdoing it) I was careful last night! A couple of glasses of Pimms Winter Cup, one beer and then nothing till a glass of bubbly at midnight.

I went to bed at 12.30, and despite the fact that my temporary bedroom was a room off the main living-room where we were all staying, and the rest of the party were singing along to Top of the Pops 2 very loudly, I managed to drift off to sleep. Up at 8 and washing up champagne glasses! I just don't do hangovers any more - nothing is worth that horrible feeling and the waste of a day.

Not too bad this morning despite partying with the neighbours, but came home at half past midnight after watching the chinese lanterns float by.

Took both kids and my niece for a yomp up Beacon Fell this afternoon - amazing what fresh air and a bit of drizzle does for teenager's hangovers (if you can put up with the complaining). Back for tea in front of the fire and Harry Potter film. Lovely!

We were sleep deprived but totally sober this year, we made a whistle stop tour of the family. SIL newly pregnant so not drinking, we knew that we would have to up at 7am after a late night so we didn't drink either. Lovely time but glad to be home, had a small glass of wine tonight now off to bed.

Feeling a bit better now, but was rather fragile this morning. Well, I say morning...got up about 11 am after having stayed up to 4.30 am playing Cluedo and Charades with friends and consuming, during the course of the evening, mulled wine, schnapps (4 shots), white wine (2 glasses), dessert wine and champagne (several glasses) !!!! Most unlike me to drink so much so naturally suffered for it. Going to bed now and hope to feel normal tomorrow when more guests arrive! Night, night...

Well, I have to say I felt totally fine this morning after a fairly sober New Years eve. Was ired though as we stayed up till about 2.30am playing Pictionary and Game of Life with the kids. Hence, no one getting up before 11am a. Well, I say no one, ED was awake at 7.30am! She is not a typical teen as she just doesn't do lie ins. I also had a sober Christmas and wasn't drunk once! Rather shocking for me. I think I have just got too old for it and just can't bear the hangovers anymore.

Like Snowy, I felt really rubbish yesterday morning and not through drink :(

I don't drink and saw in the New Year with a fizzy water.......was awake most of the night feeling sick and got up at 6.30........I had to sit for almost 4 hours unable to speak or move :( Not fair as I was preparing for my Dad's 80th Birthday party. Luckily most of it was prepared on the Friday but I had planned to hit the ground running at 7.30 and have time to relax before everyone turned up at lunchtime. I started to feel better around 11 so managed to be ready in time - OH was brilliant at interpreting my hand signals and finishing off the last few things!
