My Northern Show Results - Pics + some background!

Recommended Posts

Sorry - I bet you are are fed up with pics of barred Wyandottes but I cant resist posting these of my fab boy Jack at the Northern Show today

The Northern show hosts the Wyandotte Club show - its the one that everyone who shows Wyandottes wants to win. Jack won best barred Wyandotte and reserve champion in the club show (over 200 entries)

My other birds did well - a pullet won first in her class and I also won two seconds and a third

It was lovely to see some Omleteers there too, a few cuppas were supped :D

A really wonderful day, I thoroughly enjoyed it - it makes getting up at 5am every day totally worth it......... sort of!

Thanks everyone :D

Ita easy to photograph chickens, if you put one anywhere that they are unfamiliar with the chances are they will stand still as they seem unsure of what to do next!! after a few mins they will start moving though  It helps that my show birds are handled regularly too I suppose

Tasha - congratulations; its incredibly well deserved

Its been really inspiring to follow your journey from rescuing a garden centre cockeral who then turned out to be a winner, to breeding your own and having success with them too. You must have a very good eye to understand the minute details of your chosen breed so quickly, as well as excellent practical skills! What's really encouraging is you started out quite recently as a backyard girl and it shows what can be done, although I don't think many people would get to the top so fast! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us and being so generous with your top tips. You must be thrilled

Oh Tasha do tell us newer members how you started and what breeds you have kept on your journey - please.

Also wondered what that story is, sounds interesting! :)
