Chicken boarders

My girls were all fine until I picked up a towel in the run. They went beserk then grackle was sneezing and started having trouble breathing and going blue.

 

Thought she'd inhaled something in the fright but the vet couldn't see anything down windpipe but she had air under skin. She thought she must have perforated the windpipe. Couldn't do anything so said goodbye to her. RIP Grackle I feel so sad.

Thanks, a few short hours ago she was bouncing around the run. It was horrid to see her in distress but thought she could be saved.

 

I worry for Pigeon as well because Grackle was her midwife and helped her get rid of soft shell eggs that broke inside her. I shall just have to be vigilant. Had a cuddle with Pigeon and she sat on my lap and fell asleep. She's going to have her hands full being top chook now.
