patsylabrador
I've become really fed up with newspapers recently. They often seem more interested in football culture & celebs than news. The actual news they report I don't trust because they all have their own political bias. I find news reporting on TV patronising & sensationalist. I tend to search around online for news & the stories behind the news and I like reading various journalists' blogs. I'm not sure it's a very good system though - I always feel like everybody else knows more! Trying the International Herald Tribune which is refreshing, my son subscribed to it so I'm giving it a go. It comes crashing through the letterbox at 4.30 am though.
Janepie33
I often look on the BBC website. They seem to tell you what is going on around the world.
bluekarin
I do too, but they don't seem to tell you a lot of what is going on. More the popular stories. I also look at The Guardian and The Telegraph websites. I don't really like newspapers as they only tell you yesterdays news.
PurpleTree
I usually hear about major things first on Twitter, local news I get via Twitter too. I've got the BBC News app on my iPhone which I browse through at least once a day. Other than that I live in the dark.

Looney
I don't buy newspapers as I never seem to get time to read them and then they clutter up the house, half-read and feeling sorry for themselves until I finally admit defeat and put them in the recycling. It's a shame as I like the idea of reading a paper! I look online. Various different sites but I do use BBC and local newspaper sites as standard. Sam
A lot of news stories are usually trending on twitter first It's how I find it what happens There are also a lot of journalists that are on twitter that you can follow.
The Dogmother
I read the paper in the morning (well the first few pages) and listen to Radio 4 as i get ready for work.
percy049
yeah, the best way is twitter . i also look on AOL and the BBC website. I also look on two of my local newspaper's websites for local news.

sadietoo
I tend to just try and catch the headlines on the BBC or Radio 4...we only have a newspaper once a week, ...(guardian)on a Saturday when we get the chance to read at least some of it! Olly
"I get all the news I need from the weather report". I haven't bought a paper for years and rarely read the free ones. I look at the BBC website, and the Telegraph online, now that The Times is subscription-only. The older I get, the less I want to read the news. Egluntyne
I check on the forum. If it is worth knowing about, it will be mentioned here! I also listen to the radio.
Lesley
True about the forum I used to watch Sky News for a quick catch up as it's generally a rolling 15 minute slot with the breaking news along the bottom. Just lately though they don't seem to refresh it often enough and show the same things all day - the hurricane details didn't show anything new for a whole day. Cinnamon
I buy a paper every day - I always read it & really enjoy my sitting down with a paper time. I also pop on to the same papers online page, for daily updates,& find Facebook a great source for news too. Never have got along with Twitter
Ain't Nobody Here
Forum first, obviously . I have Radio Five Live on a lot (and always in the car) and have Yahoo News as my home page. Haven't bought a newspaper for years!
majorbloodnock
I'm another member of the paperless brigade. I don't want to spend money on news that's older than what I can get free, and we don't have a television so obviously can't get news that way. The radio in the car is fine for the potted highlights and the BBC web site is plenty for wider coverage if I want it. If I see a Telegraph lying around at work, I'll use it for the crossword, but apart from that the only need I have for newspapers is for lining the nesting box and poo trays, and my neighbour's weekend rag is more than enough paper for that purpose. The Dogmother
My paper gets plenty of reading; I read it, so does Rosie, then I save it for Phil to read at the weekend. Eventually it gets recycled as fire lighters. It's the only way for me to keep up on the news.
squiffs
I watch the bbc news channel, read the guardian website, and read a copy of the metro to pass the time on the train to work. Although I have to say the metro is utter rubbish, so many misprints - including printing a picture of a girl said to have died in a car crash on Jamaica, which then turned out to be a picture of a girl who wasn't killed, and caused a bit of upset and panic to people who knew the girl pictured. quality journalism there. Chicken Licken
I get 'The Week' magazine every friday. It summarises the UK and world news each week. I would never have a chance to read a paper every day and this suits me. I also like to read The Times on a Saturday. Not bothered about it on a sunday though. I too am a radio 4 listener and tend to have it on between 6 and 7 morning and evening.

squiffs
I have twitter, and have bbc and the guardian on there, but I would never rely on it for news as too many false rumours get started on there (eg. some of the rumours during the rioting). And the other stuff I used to use it for were things like the budget announcement and election night, but I find the guardian live blog to be more frequently updated, and better, as it isn't restricted to 140 characters and asking me to follow a new link/open a new browsing tab with every news story
chickencam
I have BBC as my home page so get breaking news if I log on, I also have Sky News app on my phone. I watch BBC Breakfast in the morning because it is the only way that my 2 girls find out about the world, DS reads the papers in the school library quite often at lunchtime. I also find 'I' good if I am traveling anywhere.
