Space Chick
Yep, I agree, a chunky carry came out today and thick black tights And I was sat shivering last night until OH built a coal fire Blimey, and last weekend I was lying on a sun lounger sun bathing with the hens in the garden
chickencam
My YD went to school this morning for Jeans for Genes day dressed in a thin top with no cardigan or coat despite my warnings that it was pretty chilly outside. My family don't do vests fortunately because I don't like them, not sure why, they are very practical and a nice sleevless white T-shirt on an attractive man can be a very nice thing indeed. The Dogmother
I've got a vest on today No heating at home yet but one of the fairies has it on at work I might light the stove this evening though just to feel snuggly.
Alis girls
Fairies? can I be nosey and ask where you work? reminds me of the recent thread on pixies.
The Dogmother
I just call them fairies because they trip around in diaphanous clothes even in the coldest weather and then complain they are cold They always have the heating on and won't venture out if it's raining or snowing
chickencam
Our stove will definately be lit tonight, I think that the cats will leave home otherwise They went off to bed sulking last night because it remained unlit despite several pointed staring and sniffing sessions. The Dogmother
Yes, I had Cyrus in his coat when we walked this morning - mainly because he can't go off-lead in the park as he gets his squirrel blinkers on and ignores my calls to come home The dogs will be in their element if I light it tonight... Cyrus will lie with his nose right under the stove and Ruby will be close behind him.
Angie
I agree winter has arrived , i tarped the WIR this morning and now i am all clean again i have had to pull on a long sleeved top and socks, it is chilly. I may even do a heating test and make sure it is all working. The boiler was serviced in april and apart from maintaing hot water the heating hasn't been on since. The sun is shining but it is all of 12c outside according to my garden thermometer, wish i had done more sunbathing last week now.

Chook n Boo Mum
Temp dropped yesterday from 19deg during the day (shirt sleeves & body warmer at DD's parent/teacher meetings) to 9 deg as we left at 6.30.......as we drove home across the Downs there were pockets of 5deg, tho as we arrived home, near the sea, it rose to a slightly more reasonable 7 ........I still didn't have a jumper & had spent 2 and a half hours sitting in a friend's kitchen with no heating & freezing cold due to an extension being build & no windows in ......therefore thermal pjs and a dog (or 3) were deployed to warm me through in bed..........I will not be leaving the house without extra layersfor the foreseeable future Now where are my thermal vest & socks for the first rugby match the DS has been selected for ....definitely winter

The Dogmother
2deg at 6am this morning but no frost but there was a frost by the time I got back from walking the dogs. Lovely now though; balmy breeze and 16deg, blue skies and sunshine. Rosie has gone into town in her shorts, but then she is a teenager

Purplemaniacs
Lovely day here, spent the afternoon setting up the field ready for Clout tournament tomorrow, a type of archery. Hope weather is good tomorrow, some years it has been really horrid!
squiffs
Blimey it's freezing, 1degree here right now. The temperature definitely just suddenly dropped on Friday night, it dropped even more severely last night too - Need to think of how to stop the chooks' water freezing if it gets much colder, can't afford snuggle safe heatpads and I have to commute 2 hours a day to get to work, so no lunchtime visits for respite from the cold
