Couperwife
I dont think that ithas stopped raining here for days, poor chooks look like they are at Glastonbury ARe they ok if they are wet? do I have to get them in and dry them? or will they sort themselves out? Egluntyne
Weather as bad as ever here in Sheffield. There was a major incident thingummy declared in the city this morning, apparently, because of the flooding. Thunder and lightening at 6.30 and sky as black as pitch. Its lighter now but the rain is worse than ever. Water is cascading down the path. Will it ever end? I suppose there will be a hosepipe ban next week. Guest
It's real 'pea-soup' weather here today - can't see past the side of the road!
ali-s
So sorry to hear about the flooding down South I hope everyone is OK. My thoughts go to that poor soldier who was swept away in the flood water Not much extra rain up here, although it is very cold for June. I am still wearing winter clothes On Wednesday evening I was out watching Natalie playing football. I was wearing my winter parka and a pair of gloves The heating has been switched back on a few times in the evening. When will summer arrive
fourfinches
The weather can't make its mind up here today. So far we have had brilliant sunshine, torrential rain as well as thunder and lightning. Our house is currently clad in scaffolding - ideal for lightning and the roofers are due to arrive in monday to start reroofing the house I expect the current weather will therefore continue for some weeks (here at least!) Egluntyne
There was a heavy mist first thing, then drizzle, at 10am the clouds parted and it has been lovely since. Lots of mud around though, and lakes which will hang around for a while. At least the hens got to play in the sunshine.
craftyhunnypie
It best be nice near to Nantwich next Saturday (23rd) as my sister is getting married at Betley church & she's havinga horse & carriage!!!!! The poor horse might need crocs wellies too! Had to laugh last night - her jack russel 'Pegs' wouldn't go out for a wee until my sister put her doggie coat on her- Bless! AND poor 'Pegs' doesn't like getting wet paws, so we are looking for some doggie wellies now. I think pets at home do them????? Weather here in Sandbach is showery - rained earlier, dry at the moment & we are having a barbeque between the rain. Hubby had to rescue me from a huge fat frog in my greenhouse earlier!!!!! YUK!!! Snowy
Well, so far today we've had heavy rain; followed by glorious sunshine, then (just as I'd got the washing out) thunder and lightening, then a torrential downpour with hailstones bouncing off everything. It's now sunny again.
The Dogmother
We seem to have missed the worst of the flooding here, wnet into Stratford this morning and the River Avon is flooded, the tables in the garden of one of the riverside pubs are floating! We had some violent thunder yesterday afternoon, and the power kept blipping. The rain was torrential and the roads awash, looking at the 10pm news last night though, we got off lightly. Today has been quite nice, warm and sunny until mid afternoon when the heavens opened; I was down in town, luckily I had my crocs on - I rolled up my trousers, put the brolly up and went for it. It's much cooler now.
Charlottechicken
Today is gloriously sunny in Birmingham! But now little clouds are appearing, so I suppose it won't be long before it rains again
Lesley
Same here Claire We've got some grass to cut before it rains - about 4 acres of the stuff I'm hoping it doesn't amount to anything as the forecast suggests a nicer day.

AnnieP
well, it was dry for the lunch hour, so the children at my school at least got to go out and burn off some energy. Hopefully have a nice quiet, calm Friday afternoon now (joke).

Egluntyne
It is horrendous here in Sheffield. The garden is a lake. The water table must be well and truly replenished. Enough already! I reckon Gordon Brown's first appointment will be a Minister for Droughts!
Cate in NZ
Bizarrely we've had very little rain here recently, a few threatening clouds, even the odd shower but no real downpours. It feels so muggy though that I'm praying for a good thunderstorm to freshen things up. Just not tomorrow though
