5˚ here and bright sunshine all day. Snow is very wet but still lying.

Some of my stupid bees having been flying onto the snow and freezing to death! Grrrrrrrrrrrr

We had 7" here in East Sussex but it is now starting to thaw. All the roads were clear though sothe gritters and tractors with ploughs had done a very good job this time! No trouble getting to work this morning

Slushy here, hope my hose pipe thaws out soon as i'm having to clean kennels out with

two watering cans.

We had a tiny flutter again this morning. There us still quite a bit of snow and ice left here.

Almost gone her and no snow this morning. A colleague lives just over the border in Northants, she says that they are due to get down to -8 tonight.

A very slow thaw here. The big chooks were not impressed when I cleaned them out this morning, I tried to get them out of the run, they were having none of it! Had to clean round them The main roads are clear but our road is an ice rink. I don't need to go anywhere until tomorrow.

Just got back from lunch and the grass at home is flooded - puddles of melted snow on top of frozen ground

Everything is frozen here, the roads are clear but the pavements are lethal. Took the dog out at 7am this morning for a walk and would have coped much better in a pair of ice skates than a pair of wellies!

Just got back from a committee meeting in Rutland and it was minus 8

Was -4deg when I went to bed and -1deg when I got up. Cloudy now and we're due a big freeze and more snow according to the papers.

We managed to get away with only a light dusting of snow on Saturday but it's bitterly cold again today.

-5 first thing this morning- so glad I lifted the banties off their perch and shut them in the cube last night- it wasn't that cold at bedtime!

Wish they would realise that they can take themselves up to a nice cosy coop at night rather than sleeping out in the run

Bitterly cold in central London - much colder than when it snowed, in fact. I don't think it's gone above freezing all day, despite a cloudy sky. Two of my hens insist on roosting on top of, rather than inside, the Eglu.

It has just crept above freezing today, very dull and cold, we have snow forecast for Thursday/Friday and some areas of the country are forecast upto 8" Having had a 5 egg day last week, we have since had two 1 egg days this week, the girls obviously don't like the cold.

Funny, mine are just getting into the swing of laying again too.

 

Just been out to the post office and it's blisteringly cold out there, forecast until Sunday shows nothing above -1deg with snow on Friday and Saturday. I hope we can travel on Saturday as we're due down in Herts for my father's 80th.

Head teacher was telling us how it was going to be -14 last night!

We're forecast heavy snow all day friday.

No end to the cold.

The days have been sunny though.

The crocuses are still buried under Saturday's snow which is now hard and frozen.

-4 this morning, hovering around freezing all day. Rain forecast tomorrow morning which will freeze straight away.

It's all made worse by memories of our balmy November and December. My bees were out collecting pollen on Christmas Day!

They really don't know with the timing, it looks like a dodgy rushhour for many. I sent my children to school 8 miles away with decent shoes and made sure YD wore a coat, just incase their coach has trouble later. I am under instruction to shop for food today, our fridge is about as empty as it has been since way before Christmas, we normally go together on a Thursday or Friday evening.

The daughters flight from her Auschwitz trip is due in at 10.30 tonight

Still,at least we don't have to tackle driving out there to get her...we took them out at 3.30 am today,so another parent is bringing them back
