Sales

Anyone bought anything nice? So far I've online shopped at Lakeland and got the large jingle bell heart wreaths I wanted but thought too dear before Christmas, some goodies from Boots, purple toaster to match my kettle and a cheap calender as well. Oh, and we ordered our one armed sofa in the sale as well today :)

ES went down Oxford Street - major worry as someone died yesterday - adv him to avoid side streets - not to flash the cash or phone and to not argue over things - a pair of trainers is replacable he isnt. Hate the sales - usually go near the end and if theres summat i want and its the right size etc i will buy

Unintentionally - sister wanted to change the present she'd bought for her daughter - so we went to John Lewis in Peterborough today. It reminded me why I never go sales shopping - it was hideously crowded, and I don't think there were any great bargains - they would have to be huge reductions to make it worth braving the crowds, for me! I'm going to go online in a minute and see what's available, I want a digital clock radio but with John Lewis 'click and collect' I can get it delivered.

No , don't do new year sales, hate the crowds . Nothing i want , can't really afford much as had car repairs done christmas week and ins is due next month .

So i will be sitting back and hand quilting the top of my quilt for the next month . I like to have something to work on through the winter nights.

I don't do sales on the high street at all..in fact I hate the whole jumble sale-ness of them....now...on line is altogether another thing....

I love sales :D I went to Marks and got some trousers and a few other bits and bobs. I managed to get some birthday presents at TKMax too. I have to confess that I buy my Christmas cards and wrapping paper at this time of year so got that to put up in the loft. I found the shops really quiet this year much the same as any Saturday  Think folks are holding onto their cash. I have heard and saw on TV reports of people queuing for sales but saw none of that here.

Went into Aberystwyth - took my sister in law. We went to the New Big Next store. I went with the intentions of " oh there won't be much I'll want", only to come back with 2 bags of bargains!

I got a King size duvet set for £20 - it's lovely. Got the cushion too that was shown on the duvet set photo for £6!

Also got a vase for £2, an handbag sized umbrella £4. Then a pair of boots for £18 - they'd been £45. :D

Got a necklace & some earrings for a couple of quid. Bought 3 tops and a dress. But my best buy that I love is my 1920's style teal cloche hat. It is soooo DOwnton Abbey - I just love it!

Then last minute I got some padded Baby Girl word bunting, a little red baby coat with bows on & a pinafore dress & little top for baby girl who is booked in to arrive in the world 10th January. Unless she decides to pop out sooner. Was very pleased with my shop.

I ordered my mum a box of Hotel Chocolat choccies, as she has never tried them & was jealous of me getting a box as a prezzie! They should be with her before New Year to enjoy!

My sister in law spent an absolute fortune & got tons of stuff - mainly suits for work! Can't wait to visit my favourite shop called ' Polly's' to see what they may have.

I bought some Christmas crackers, wrapping paper, cards and candles from M&S at 50% off a few days before Christmas. Also popped into Boots when I was out buying a new kettle and picked up some Soap & Glory stuff at half price. Needed some new boots for dog walking and found some nice ones in Next, so bought them online, but haven't got them yet.

I used to love shopping, I was a right shopoholic - then I worked in Next one Christmas, including the Boxing Day start at 6 am..... walking past the queues of people who had been there since 4:30 am (ours was just a fairly small store as well). That experience put me right off shopping!!

Nope, hate shopping too  .

ES went into town yesterday and came back with a nice navy hoodie from Top Man. They didn't take the blasted security tag off it though, so he's going to have to take it back :wall: .

This happened to us yesterday as well. I took my mum and ES to the Trafford Centre as she wanted to buy him some clothes plus we needed to get a good suit for his Sandhurst interview thingy. In spite of the crowds we did very well. Mum bought him a lovely leather jacket in Selfridges. When we got home the security tag was still on it!!. Rang them up this morning and they were extemely apologetic. We are to go back ( only a 40 mile round trip!) and they will sort it plus we are going to get a 'goodwill gesture' whatever one of those is  I don't have to take my mum again though just her receipt!!

Well I "braved" Swansea today.... And it was REALLY quiet

Bought 2 pairs of work trousers in Wallis, and then spent ages chatting to the lovely free range butcher... Called to Asda for a few bits, Asda is always chaos... Today empty

Had a break in Starbucks and had a praline mocha.... It was AMAZING!!!!!

Come home cleaned out WIR2 and am now flaked out on the sofa after my bath :D

Good day

I was walking through the town with the dogs at 8am on boxing day morning - most of the high streets shops were closed (except (bizarrely) Subway. saw loads of folk with shopping bags - they were coming out of the shopping centre, which must have opened early for the sales

I used to work in central London - fighting through crowds of shoppers at sale time to get to work puts you right off. I'd rather save my money for something I need.

I had to into town to return the phone that we had bought for ED she didn't want it preferring her old one. It was still in it's box and phones 4 u were great about refund. I then went into M&S and bought 2 pairs of jeans and 3 tops. One of the pairs of jeans will have to go back because thyey are way too long, but everything was great :D . OH gave me money to spend on clothes as part of my Christmas present, he hid £5 notes around the house then gave me a list of clues,my very own treasure hunt :D
