bluekarin
I don't know if some of these shops were nationwide or just regional Vogue interiors Richard Shops Martin Ford Allders Presto International Timothy Whites (part of Boots) Rumbelows I'm probably just showing my age We had an International here. I remember my parents saving up the coupons for the blue and white dinner set. We had quite a lot of it. We also had a Richards here as well. I also miss Woolies. Robert Dyas just isn't the same. We had a shop here in the early 80's. It sold all sorts of stationary wares, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. I don't think it was part of a chain - more a small local shop. I spent quite a lot of time in that shop when I was a teen.

Charlottechicken
I was singing the Richard Shops jingle whilst reading this! I remember Van Allen (had a lilac and black tracksuit from the Scarborough shop in about 1976, aged 10, and thought I was the bees knees ), Benbows, Brentford Nylons, Revolver Records, loved C&A, I believe it still trades on the continent (and I still have a lovely grey winter coat from C&A), Richard Shops (still have a pretty chiffon scarf I bought from there). Chortle Chook
I must have a foot thing as the ones I miss most are Sock Shop and Dolces. I remember moving from London to York and not knowing what to do because there were no sock shops. . . . Couldn't think where to get socks and tights from But I have found a source for clogs just like they used to do them in Dolces - not a shop however but a craft stall
