Redwing
In July we bought a lovely pony called Oscar, when we went to see him we saw another pony in the same field who was suffering from a bad bout of sweet itch (a nasty itchy skin problem) he had rubbed off a lot of the skin on his neck and face, his ears were sore and swollen and he was red and itchy underneath and down the inside of his legs. The field was particularly bad for insects and the owners were battling against this. Fast forward a month and I cant stop thinking about Milo and hearing that he was for sale we couldnt resist reuniting him with his pal Oscar We discovered that Milo has a fantastic pedigree with many champions in his family tree, originally sold for showing he has ended up in five homes despite being only three and a half. I have managed to trace his pedigree back several hundred years! After £800 spent on vets fees, medication and specialist rugs Milo is looking so much better, he will always have sweet itch but by keeping him covered for much of the year we should be able to keep it under control. Some people would say we were mad to spend that on getting him right but he is such a lovely pony it means we cant have new guttering on the house this winter but I know what I would rather have Some pics A few days after he arrived, thats Oscar looking grumpy in the background About a week after he arrived so around 25th Aug About 16th September, the medication is really battering him here and he has lost weight but his wounds are healing up Dressed in his 'ninja suit' getting there! 5th October

Space Chick
He is a stunner and a very very lucky boy! I know that he couldn't have found a better, more loving home than with you and Ian. Knowing you both as I do, I know you always put the animals before yourselves Who needs new guttering anyhow

Lavenders_Blue
Who needs new guttering when you can have a pony instead? He is a real stunner, Redwing, and has found a fab home with you How big are Oscar and Milo? It's hard to tell from the photos but they look quite small. Will you be keeping them just for grazing, or do you have plans for them?
Groovychook
He's lovely So pleased he found someone to give him a chance!
Redwing
Thank you all Milo is about 11hh and Oscar around 11.3hh so yes both very small Oscar is a yearling so will be a lawnmower for at least another couple of years, he is a lovely chap. Milo is ready to be broken in now and I will be breaking him to be ridden and driven. If I can find a local willing child I would love to see him get to a show and win a rosette one day, he was bred by the Idyllic Stud and was originally intended to be a show pony so its in his blood! Lavenders_Blue
How exciting! I am sure you won't have any trouble finding a local willing child to ride and show him for you. I would have jumped at the chance myself as a child. (Alas now too grown up to ride such a little'un )
Snowy
They are both gorgeous ponies, but you can certainly see Milo's breeding - he is little stunner! Well done Tasha, you have worked wonders with him already

And who needs guttering when we are supposed to have global warming.
LottyJ1
Wow what a lucky pony - you are doing an amazing job as sweet itch ins't easy but you can manage it as you are proving! You will have children queuing up the road to ride him. I would have done
kinsk
Stunning! I remember a friend of mine having a pony with awful sweet itch, she had some sort of steroid injections which pretty much cured the problem. Well done for persevering xx
