Luvachicken
Some of you may know that my son went to Australia in September for a gap year. He is in Port Douglas at the moment but there is really bad weather near him at the moment. 6 tornadoes and flooding ..................so I am just waiting until 9pm our time which will be 7am for him so I can see if I can get hold of him and make sure he is ok. If I can't then I will phone the place he is staying Edited January 28, 2013 by Guest

patsylabrador
Oh no! I know how that feels. It will be so great when you make contact. Let us know how he's doing.
Luvachicken
Well, I've sent 2 texts to 2 different phones he has but no reply yet - I suppose he might not be up yet. I have a found a number for where he is staying but don't really want to ring that just yet.
Luvachicken
The phone line said "We regret to say ................................................" and that was it. So I can't get through I tried again and now it doesn't ring at all.
Geoid
The power is out in a lot of places along the coast as there is widespread flooding. The phone lines are also down too, even emergency calls can't get through. But, they are prepared, the army is on standby and evacuation centres have been set up. Ain't Nobody Here
I'm sure it'll just be some techie hitch that's preventing you contacting him. I'm so sorry you have that worry till you manage to get through .
Purplemaniacs
I hope you get through soon. Thinking of you. Chrissie
Luvachicken
Just heard from our son Fortunately the weather didn't come too near him. It was the weather "down south" that caused the problems with the phones and no internet. Brisbane is mostly where the bad weather has been. Thanks everyone for all your support although it was a long night waiting for a text back.

HennyPenny59
They have no idea what they put us through do they .... Very glad to hear your son is ok I had a worrying week last week, as my two were snowboarding in Austria .. They have been going for a few years now, and I always ask them to please avoid the red and black slopes and off piste, as I don't feel their skills are up to them yet, and they can be dangerous, but they always end up going on them anyway as they say they are more exciting Grrrrrr!!!
