mullethunter
Yay! I've been excited for about a fortnight! Really should get a life
soapdragon
Can't wait to 'meet' all the new characters - they sound a pretty disparate bunch! Does any Omleteer know anyone who has already been on?
Egluntyne
Whoop! Apparently we will all be dashing to the shops to buy powdered raspberry.
Charlottechicken
Out of stock on Amazon already!
Olly
No! I can't wait to watch it but I don't think I'll be rushing to buy that. Apparently there were 16000 applicants this year!
bluekarin
I am so excited too Have been looking forward to it for a week or so now Not heard of powdered raspberry. I've bought freeze dried pieces in Waitrose, yes, and freeze dried mango, but not powdered.
Purplemaniacs
DD and I are both looking forward to it. Only problem is she is out on a Wednesday so we plan to record it and then we are going to watch it together on Thursday night as she stays here each Thursday. The difficulty will be avoiding the discussions about it in the staff room once we are back to school. Chrissie
Ain't Nobody Here
Surprisingly, OH is a huge fan so we'll both be watching it . How do people know to buy powdered raspberry if the series hasn't even started yet >
Lavenders_Blue
I love GBBO. Looking forward to Paul Hollywood and his chubby little fingers And as always I will marvel at the fact that anyone can be bothered to expend that amount of time and effort on baked goods. I love baking, but can rarely be bothered to bake anything more time consuming than a quick sponge cake. Everything on GBBO always looks so wonderful
Olly
Not disappointed at all - I won't say who won/who went home so as not to spoil it for those watching on catch-up, but that was great. Some of those Swiss Rolls - This is why I'm a happy amateur home baker, I know my limitations!
bluekarin
Me neither So pleased they haven't messed with the format now it's on BBC1. I won't spoil it either, but am not surprised who went and who was star baker. I have a few favourites already, but I am sure it will change over the series. My kids have told me I should go for it, but I burst into tears far to easily for telly I can do a Swiss roll, but not with people watching me that close. Egluntyne
I love Norman! If I'm honest, I would have liked to see less cake and more bread or pastries in one episode.
redbug
I missed it last night - going to watch it on iplayer later
Mercedes55
I've been waiting for this series for ages and really enjoyed it. I have actually bought some of the freeze dried raspberry powder from Waitrose, there was an article about it in the Daily Mail last week. I think one of the contestants in last years series used some too apparently. Have to say I bake a lot, I've baked 3 chocolate madeira cakes this week, last week I baked bread twice and also made some ice cream cone cupcakes with caramel sponge and nutella icing which were lovely
Cat tails
Will there be a re-run on telly too? I'm not allowed to access the iPlayer because I don't have a UK IP adres...
redbug
Now I would have thought someone else should have gone home!
Chickendoodle
What a good set of contestants. No idea who will win. Whenever I have guessed in previous series I have been completely wrong as someone who was in the background can shine later on. Haven't got a hold on the names yet but I love the builder with the pencil behind his ear Looking forward to the Jo Brand show tonight
chickencam
We loved it took so glad that they haven't messed with it, although I am sure that the bakes will get more and more technical because they have done so many already.
Charlottechicken
Apparently, there's a scandal this week, involving some bought-in fondant icing when everything was supposed to be home made

Lavenders_Blue
Loved the pirate scene! I wish I could be bothered to make something so creative. Buying in that fondant icing didn't pay off at all, did it?
