bluekarin
Thank you I agree about the sheet. I think the dining table would suffice
Alis girls
Apparently theres been complaints re le double entendres and smut a report in Daily Mail (where else ) said. OOh er. I'm afraid I just snigger. Comes of years in the NHS.
Charlottechicken
Must admit the double entendres I've noticed have not been too bad, but I've seen some quotes which I have obviously missed completely. Depends what you focus on when you watch it I suppose, and I'm focusing on the food
Valkyrie
Oh the Baileys, the Baileys! I'm all for that one! Bet Mary had all those! This is a programme that OH has recorded - but he seems to sleep through most of it, but he soon woke up when I howled at Mary's reaction to those alcoholic doughnuts! Mrs Webmuppet
I thought I'd have a go at the mini pear pies from the programme, except in taking all day instead an impossibly short space of time. The pears are from the garden.....I've got loads so if it works it might be another way of using up a pear mountain!
Charlottechicken
Semi final on at 8 folks! Who is going tonight?
mullethunter
Nancy
Cat tails
Difficult... But I think Nancy too
bluekarin
I don't know who will go. So very close. The cake they are making right now, the Baumkuchen, I've seen made on tv before like the one Mel 'helped' make, love her but never in a tin. Must give it a go......maybe
Cat tails
Oh no! Poor Chetna!
Charlottechicken
Gutted! Didn't see that coming at all
Cat tails
I think it was a close call between Nancy and Chetna. Would have liked to see Luis make star baker.
bluekarin
I was surprised she went too. I also think Luis should have been star baker this week. His cakes were beautiful, unlike his gaudy eclairs the other week
Charlottechicken
I was convinced that Nancy would walk. It was so close between Luis and Richard though, the final should be good. It has to be between Luis and Richard, surely?
Lavenders_Blue
I'm not surprised Chetna went. Her baklava didn't look that great to be honest, and her entremets were a bit messy. It's a shame though, as up to now I think she has actually been quite underrated. I though Luis should have been star baker this week too. I reckon the final will be a close call between Luis and Richard.
chickencam
I would love Nancy to pull it out of the bag, I love her humour and energy, and her accent. If not then Richard for me, I love his cute little patted on the head smile.
Egluntyne
I like Nancy too. Luis gets on my nerves a bit. He is certain that he is going to win. Nancy or Richard for me.
soapdragon
To win.......Oh please, oh please, oh please, RICHARD! He has been consistently 'up there'....not always tops but rated and is very unassuming and down to earth (imho ) Nancy has been all over the place....I was really surprised that it was Chetna to go and not Nancy last week but, heyho, we don't get to taste the bakes! Luis is always the bridesmaid and never the bride......just seems to miss the top slot as the judges are complimentary but there seems to be a 'but' every week tho his attention to detail is great! Richard, for me, is always that bit more modest and chuffed when he gets it right It will be a nail biting final, for sure, on Wednesday! Edge of seat/gin and tonic/ hankies at the ready etc
Charlottechicken
Final tonight From GBBO website: It's the final... from thousands of applicants just 12 bakers made it to the tent, and now only three remain. Having fought their way through 27 baking challenges and proved they can master every baking discipline known to man, the remaining three bakers have just one more weekend of baking to tackle. Just three challenges lie between them and the trophy. And what a trio of challenges they are. A signature challenge that requires the mastery of a classic pastry technique that normally takes a day - in just three hours; a technical challenge that tests them beyond everything they have tackled in the previous nine weeks by requiring them to master the basics - with no recipe; and a final show-stopper challenge that demands delivery of perfect sponge, caramel, choux pastry and petit four in their final five hours in the Bake Off tent. Each one is worthy, but who will be crowned winner of the Great British Bake Off? For the final time, on your marks, get set... bake! mullethunter
It's gotta be Richard - but then I've been wrong every time so far!
Cat tails
Think it will be Richard too, but I would love to see Nancy or Luis win.
soapdragon
Given the number of Star Baker awards he has....has to be Richard purely for consistency! IMHO will be a two horse race between Richard and Luis but hope Richard has the edge (sorry, Luis!)
Charlottechicken
It does look like a two horse race, so I'm hoping Nancy does something spectacular, just to show she deserves to be there.
Cat tails
Well that wasn't a good turn for Richard... Exciting!
bluekarin
Does look like it will be right up to the wire doesn't it! Poor Richard, he hasn't had a good round so far. Nancy is looking very confident though......
