Hooray!!! :D:D:D

My cube has arrived this morning with two lovely Gingernut rangers (Omlet was all out of Pepperpots). The girls are soon to be joined by 4 more this afternoon. Due to the heavy rain they're a little camera shy at the minute but I promise to post some piccies later when all the girls are together.

I've named the two Gingernuts Gladys and Gurtie. Gladys is far bolshier than Gurtie so far and has test pecked everything! Gurtie is staying indoors out of the rain.....don't blaim her!

Off to do more chicken watching now before setting out to collect the others. Hopefully it will be a bit drier later for picture posing! :D

Congratulations!!!!! :D

They are enormous aren't they? & you can't stop looking at it & thinking hmmm just how many chooks could I fit in that?

You are so lucky having yours assembled & with chooks. Ours is causing that many tiffs cos hubby doesn't like instructions.

And Omlet Chooks are so so lovely, it's like Omlet have words with them and tell them now be good, we've got our good reputation to keep up! he he . Omlet chickens really are that little bit extra special!

Have fun playing. Can't wait to see photos.

They've all settled in beautifully even with the travelling and wet weather.

We picked their names because I wanted older more traditional names but hubby picked Honey!!!

They are already really addictive to watch!! :D

Thanks for all you're good wishes and interest and I'll keep you all posted on their progress.

Oh what joy - you can't beat that first day first chickens feeling - wouldn't swap that for the world.

The purple cube looks gorgeous especially in the rain it makes it almost glow.

I see you mowed the lawns, trimmed the edges and weeded the flower beds - and even painted the fence for the photo shoot?

Now that is what I call a professional.

Really, truly, lovely setting - many happy days to come

That Cube has got something mine hasn't got. (Well, it's got two things really, but I am trying to give up complaining about the fact that I still don't have the new drinker -- for which on Friday I will have been waiting exactly three calendar months.)

It has a small white square on the side, just above the door lever. Could you please let us know what it is? I sense a modification....

And your garden looks so tidy, and the cube fits in so beautifully. You are prepared for what the hens are going to do to your nice grass, are you?

Gallina, the small white square was just the manufacturers date stamp. That picture was taken just on cube completion so the sticker's been removed now.

On the lawn front sadly that picture paints a prettier picture than reality. I've always had a terrible lawn full of meadow weed and moss so I really don't mind it being destroyed by the chickens.

I'm sorry to say that I made no extra preparations for the photo shoot just that I'm super lazy and only half painted the fence last year mainly because it needs replacing and my boarders never need weeding - I've got weed suppressing membrane and bark mulch.

Although it does look like I worked really hard at it, sadly I didn't

Very happy tonight with my girls they tucked themselves up into beddy byes by 9 o'clock without any help or guidance....phew!
