What's in your car?

Recommended Posts

Hand cream, small antibacs hand gel, lipsalve, high viz vest, spare child booster seat, book to read whilst waiting for school to kick out, pen, notepad, reading glasses for aforesaid book, bag for rubbish - currently empty as dustbin men come tomorrow - instruction book for car, assorted walnuts and conkers - all wrinkled (school has a walnut tree in the grounds and I park under a conker tree.) Dust, leaves and some racy go-faster floor mats that were bargains at 99p each. Oh, and not forgetting the nut that holds the wheel

OH, Bramble, that could be from my car, except the dog stuff, but have instead a reel of fine lead solder, a pair if OH's boots, and a lock-and-lock of meal worms for when we visit some hens we know.

OH once had a rather desiccated banana returned to her after a service an clean, just in case she was wanted it

Our local hand car wash is £10 for cleaning inside and outside. Last time I took my car to be washed there I was so embarrassed about the state of the car that I tipped them a few quid extra. I'm sure they have seen worse, but £10 just seems ridiculously cheap to me!

I can go one better than that. I once had one of these places REFUSE to do my car

I used to deep litter my old car, the boot was over a foot deep in stuff and when I sold it I found all sorts in it from clothes to tins of paint, I once found enough loose change in it to fill the entire fuel tank

my current vehicle is full of the things I bought at The Horse of the Year show last week that I haven't told my husband about

At present there are tissues on the dash board, screen wiper and ice s"Ooops, word censored!"er with a spray bottle of windscreen de-icer in the door pocket, a packet of foxes mints in the ash tray. My walking stick.

On the rear seat is a booster seat and a back pack my grandson has left.

In the boot a dog cage folded flat, more tissues and toilet roll ( just in case ) shopping bags and my wheelchair. A bottle of screen wash and an unopened lt bottle of engine oil ( just in case ).

And it could do with a good hovering, but not till I've taken some bags of garden rubbish to the recycle yards.

At the moment I have a huge bin bag full of newspapers in the back and some shredded paper in separate bags. I went to visit my mum yesterday and she saves them for me. I'm intending to do that "no dig" thing in the garden and the papers will be my mulch. Shredded paper is for the Cube poo trays and nestbox (redundant at the moment due to that time of year when it looks like a pillow fight everywere in the garden and in the cube).

As DS got out of the car this morning I spotted something previously forgotten about - the 2 hand books for English Heritage and NT. Well if we are out somewhere and fancy a trip to this that or the other, we can have a look and see opening times.

I have my gym kit bag, swim kit bag, a car rug, selection of shopping bags, a car rug, several half used cans of de-icer, a pile of CDs, a loo roll (hey I'm a Mum loll roll is sooooo versatile) two sachets of ketchup , a pile of supermarket receipts and bizarrely a cross from Church that was given out on Palm Sunday. There was a bag of kids books but I finally gave them to charity today.

Took the boys to the dentists this afternoon and, when I opened the boot in the Waitrose car park in Henley to put in the few bits and bobs that we had bought, realised that I still had a huge long black woollen cape (from our re enacting days) a small cauldron (ditto) a beesom broomstick and tall pointed hat.........I know what you are thinking and I have been called that on many occasions but actually leftovers from reading Room on the Broom and various Winnie books with Reception last week

I have a pair of sunglasses in my car and I have absolutely no idea who's they are or how they came to be there! They're huge!

My car has endless empty chewing gum packs and petrol receipts, a case of dodgy CDs, a lumber support, a coat that work gave me that I'll never wear cause it doesn't cover my bum, my address book, my home visit bag, a Doppler case and a stuffed toy chicken liberated from my little brother.
