Grandmashazzie
Hi Chickabee, what walking regime do you do for your pups.I reckon you will be an expert. My last two black labs had severe arthritis and I want to keep George in good shape. He has just had 2nd inj and is just playing in garden at present. Chickabee
I only have the pups whilst they're youngsters. They start free running just after 12 weeks but starting with just 10 minutes 3 times a week maximum. They pavement walk the rest of the time. This starts from 7 weeks again gradually. I have 2 older labs one is 6 and one is 11. They both walk every day for about an hour. The older one has arthritis. He uses a ramp to get in and out of the car. The younger one runs whilst the older walks trots and sniffs . I give Max (the older one) glucosamine, zinc, vitamin c and fish oil every day. Oscar also gets the fish oil. They are both on mature light dog food. I'm really not an expert though. Just love dogs
Grandmashazzie
Oh thank you I don't want to overdo it.It is so tempting to take him d own to the beach and let him run.I remember my golden retriever breeder saying it was okay to walk lots on soft sand but I am not sure if that's right.
