Leftover Feed - Ok the next day?

Recommended Posts

I was giving fresh food every day but then I changed the feeder and don't have to now. I just make sure they've got enough to see them through the day and top it up when I take it out at night.

Obviously if the leftover food was contaminated in some way, I'd have no hesitation in throwing it away and providing all fresh the next day.

Hmmm that is an interesting idea... Will have a try at that.

Just in illustration: I had a birdfeeder up with grower pellets, which I bought during their non-laying time for a bit of a protein boost. They ignored it all this time up till last week. They emptied it in two days and now I keep refilling that one in stead of their normal pellets.

Never thought about those pellets anymore but they liked them all the same. Do have to say it is a hanging closed feeder and the pellets can't get wet in it.
