ricmonddan
Hi, Is it OK to put back out, the following day, the uneaten food for the day? I use Omlet's organic feed for info. Cheers Dan
mullethunter
I fill my feeders and leave them out until they are empty. The only time I throw out uneaten food is if it's obviously not going to get eaten because they don't like it or if it's got wet and therefore could go mouldy
ricmonddan
good to know, thanks
Plum
I leave it to but when I refill the peanut I tip the old stuff to one side and refill the other so I know it goes.
Mar1a
I was giving fresh food every day but then I changed the feeder and don't have to now. I just make sure they've got enough to see them through the day and top it up when I take it out at night. Obviously if the leftover food was contaminated in some way, I'd have no hesitation in throwing it away and providing all fresh the next day. gavclojak
I fill my feeders once a week, any food that's left gets made into a porridge at the end of the week when the feeders are popped into the dishwasher and replenished when clean and dry
Ain't Nobody Here
I top my feeders up daily but try to let them be emptied once in a while so I know there's no ancient food lurking at the bottom!

Cat tails
Hmmm that is an interesting idea... Will have a try at that. Just in illustration: I had a birdfeeder up with grower pellets, which I bought during their non-laying time for a bit of a protein boost. They ignored it all this time up till last week. They emptied it in two days and now I keep refilling that one in stead of their normal pellets. Never thought about those pellets anymore but they liked them all the same. Do have to say it is a hanging closed feeder and the pellets can't get wet in it.
The Dogmother
Just make sure to clear out any stale or mouldy pellets; never use damp feed.
