Cat tails
Wow! Gorgeous! I once almost stepped on one... but then again... I also once almost stepped on a hedgehog...

Expand We had Adders where I used to live in Devon, this is a western whip snake, totally harmless and if it does bite it is a bit like a bee sting. We do have vipers here in France but not seen one yet.
GrannyTrish
We have adders up here, too, but I've never seen one. I do know someone who got bitten by one, though!
mullethunter
Beautiful creature. I’ve seen them and grass snakes down here in Cornwall quite a few times. Don’t usually have time to look at them properly thought because they usually feel me coming and are already on the move by the time I’ve seen them. Valkyrie
Apart from squashed ones in the New Forest, I've only ever seen one huge bod about 2 years ago. I have never seen an adder - even though there was one baby at Corfe Castle years ago when the children were small - they all saw it and I have no idea why I didn't! Must have glanced and not seen what people were looking at (probably more focused on climbing up the blooming hill!). Seen lots of slow worms though - the first one was as a child in our garden and my mum had fifty fits because I touched it and it may have killed me. Dad took it to work and released it on a common. She did the same thing on holiday in Cornwall - and this time I picked it up. She went berserk! I did it on purpose! Still raining here. I may have to start building an ark. Valkyrie
Rainy day again but not as bad as we were expecting. Sunshine late this afternoon. Chucking it down now - hitting the front windows hard!
GrannyTrish
Sleet/snow from around 5pm yesterday which was lying at around 8pm and still coming down but this morning it was all gone, thankfully. Showers and bitterly cold today.
Valkyrie
Dry! It's been dry all day long - and sunny a fair bit too! A bit breezy but all in all a good day to transfer the Munchkins to Aunty Mostin. Clouded over and looked threatening but it's come out sunny again.
The Dogmother
Apart from getting soaked this morning, it's been quite nice this afternoon, milder too. We get slow worms in the compost heap most years, they seem to nest in there. Just don't get on the wrong end of grass snakes though; if they are threatened, they exude 'milk' which smells foul. One of those smells that you can't get rid of.

GrannyTrish
Sleet all morning today but further west and the roads are only passable with care due to heavy snow!
GrannyTrish
The sun just started to shine this evening! On the downside, it's forecast to be -7oC tonight .
mullethunter
Was going to moan about it being cold but having seen GrannyTrish’s posts I won’t!

Valkyrie
Another beautiful day up here in Bromyard! Lots of floods and water coming down from the fields in places. Going into Hereford there are meadows under water.
Luvachicken
Typical !!!! Just tomorrow of the Easter holidays left and the weekend, and then back to school on Monday, so after a pretty miserable 2 weeks weather wise it's going to start turning nice and sunny next week So frustrating. Valkyrie
OH says it's supposed to reach the low 20s. I'll believe it when I see it. Although it did seem to try and stay dry today. Looks damp outside now, but we had murky mist earlier and only lifted briefly. At least it isn't lashing at the windows now. Really cheesed off with this horrid stuff.
