The Bantam of the Opera
I just got home from college and Mrs. weasly didnt dash to the backdoor to get treats so i went out to look for her and found her in one of our duck ponds. Im so distraught, she was my favourite chicken and i am in tears as i write this. she was a real chracter and was really tough, shes laid 2 double yolk eggs in teh last week as well despite having next to no feathers. ill miss her terribly. ill put up some pictures when i am less of a state. The Bantam of the Opera
thankyou for your kind words all. I think she mustve had a stroke recently because her balance was very off lately, she mustve stumbled into teh pool She was a good egg layer and pet and will be sorely missed. Im jsut sorry i never got to see her with a full set of feathers. I am already thinking about getting a freind for Herro though, its so sad to see her wandering around by herself. My boyfriend is going to bury Mrs. weasly tonight. Im going to read to take my mind off of it. Mrs. weasly on the right. Although i don't like to favouritise she was my favourite chicken though not my prettiest. Im glad i could give her a better home and help her have a good alst few months though. chelsea
So sorry to hear of your sad and sudden news. She was a very pretty chicken (in her own way ). take comfort in the fact she led a fab life with you if you compare the life of most chickens in the world today. I adore the photo of her 'face on' - maybe you could make her into your screensaver in memory of her and what a lovely characterful chook she was? The Bantam of the Opera
i hope so, she was the greatest. Me and arron dug her a lovely grave near her favourite foraging spot and put lots of rocks on it so it wont be disturbed by foxes. I gave herro a whole sausage for herself to help cheer her up. Thankyou all for your kind words. this is the only downside to chickens, the terrible loss. that is definitely my favourite picture of her. she had such charm.
