Lesley
Most Americans think I'm a boy because they use the girl spelling for boys....and pronounce it with a soft 's' as well When we went to meet relatives over in MN, half the family (ones I'd not met before) thought we were Lesley and Carol, and I was male
Ain't Nobody Here
I was confused about Christian at first too . At least now I know for sure .
Ana's flock
I always thought Christian was male (otherwise it would be Christine!) - I never thought about Angels4 because the number makes it more androgynous... Angel is a male name in Spanish, the female is Angeles. I'm female - the 'parrot' on my shoulder is a VERY male French maran cockerel called Kingsley. Since husband moved back in he's taken over feeding and watering the chickens... every morning when I get up, he's already fed them! - I'm the one in charge of the chicken whispering, hugging, and general treat provider. (Let's hope he doesn't decide he's also doing that, otherwise I'll just have to get a girly pink cube, engrave my name in it and get myself some chickens ) ...and yet he's not a forum member (well, that's what I think ). Ange1
Just to confuse I'm an 'Angel' () ) and I'm a girl!! But had to choose Ange1 as Angel was already taken!!

Orange=Sunshine, Yeah I would guess so.

Snowy
I am so sorry I have confused so many of you!! Don't apologise - we were talking about it today at the Leicester meet and saying how easy it is to make assumptions based on a couple of conversations! And I am saying no more or I will end up digging myself into an enormous hole that I will never get out of!

Ms Marple
Well I'm female as my name might suggest, but living in an all male household means:- its hell sorting the socks! "Ooops, word censored!"ody picks up clothes off the floor! "Ooops, word censored!"ody knows how to empty the dishwasher I wear heels once a blue moon along with make-up, I can't be doing with handbags - one is quite enough! I teach in an all boys school so tend to wear trousers most of the time - not sure why though. If I try to make what I think is an intelligent and informed comment during an international rugby match - I am told that I don't know what I am talking about - yet they have been making me watch for 28 years , so I must know something! Rant over. I haven't read many of your posts Angels4 but I too had assumed you to be female - from the name - sorry

chickencam
It looks like although forum contributors are mainly female, we are not girlie, and mostly our menfolk give us a bit of stick for our forum addiction but also love the chickens or were even instumental in their arrival
redhotchick
I tend to look at avatars first and names second. Very confusing when people change them! I had assumed Angels4 to be a male. Mrs Bertie confused me recently when she changed her avatar, and Cinnamon always confuses me, I frequently do a double take, because her avatar is one of a man,(someone famous that I should probably recognise but don't!) Rhapsody I'm not sure of (male or female?). Jules avatar is male but I'm sure Jules is female. Christian I had assumed to be a male, and Ajuff and Reikiranf and poached egg (although I don't know why I think that - sorry if I am wrong!) I am a girl. I am quite girly but have a job in a male dominated industry. I'm not into cars or sport, but don't mind getting my hands dirty and like to be able to do things for myself, like DIY. Before I went off on a bit of a rant, I meant to add that my menfolk are very sweet to my chickens. OH kindly put up the run and has plans for a larger version. YS lets them out every morning and looks ofr eggs - none yet! OS thinks that they are a replacement for him - possibly! Everyone likes to feed them treats and laugh as they follow me around the garden. Even the dogs are behaving better. However it is me that finds the forum quite compelling! BTW, Redhotchick, I knwo that Jules is female as I bought my Eglu from her. Cinnamon's avatar is a picture of the rather lovely( well I think so - I like him best as Sharpe) Sean Bean. daj198
I think it is the use of the word Angels....but why that should be I can't explain....after all Michael, Raphael, Gabriel etc were all chaps. I thought angels were hermaphrodites... Also, it's odd that they have a gender association as it's not like all angels are/were stereotypically "angellic" and so like women. (sexist!!) Because let's remember that the devil and demons were all once angels before they rebelled. Also, how can a spiritual being be associated with gender when gender is a purely physical, biological attribute that does not affect the spirit of a person? Rant over. I'm a guy by the way.
