Introducing the Hogwarts Girls

Recommended Posts

Terrible pictures...they zoom about like greased lightening.

Anyroad up, I went to get 2 Fenton Blues and two Amber Links today but had a last minute rethink as the Amber Links available, although lovely, were much older and I didn't want carnage, so came home with4 Fenton Blues, Hufflepuff, Quidditch, Muggle and Boggart. 8 weeks old.

Haven't decided which is which as they don't stand still for long enough. for me to clock their individual characteristics.

They aren't the prettiest hens in the world, but if they lay blue eggs I can live with that. :D

Had to rig up a very ingenious double barrelled run, with a spare one over the top to give them a bit of extra protection from the big girls, who are not impressed.

Are you going to shorten Boggarts' name?:lol:

No! :D

I come from Manchester and there is a place there with the glorious name of Boggart Hole Clough....it put me in mind of that too, so Boggart she will be.

So how many have you currently got in total? Looks like the flock is expanding!

18 now. That is definitely it for a good while. :D

........there's a place in Huddersfield called Bog Green, I've always thought how interesting it would be if you're ordering something and saying your address over the 'phone and have to say "Bog Green" and wait for the snigger!!

By the way, lovely red Eglu and the girls are so so cute. How lovely to raise them from that age. I'm getting broody now!!

Egluntine, they are lovely :) Take it they're an auto-sexed breed.
So I'm told! I do hope so. They certainly all look the same in the comb dept. :D

LOL's, fingers crossed then. When we got Mo and Barney we could have chosen some younger ones (14 weeks ish if I remember right). Can't remember the breed but there was a chance they could have been cockerels so we had to say no, even though she would have taken them back.
