ubereglu
Aww, it must be really difficult for you and your son. Just be there when you can and try to comfort him as best you can. If you know the parents try to be there for them as well. It really helps if you give as many people as possible your support. It was a week yesterday that someone died at our school too and together everyone's gradually getting through it.

Cate in NZ
Such a tragedy . My thoughts go out to her family, it must be simply unbearable to have a happy, healthy child taken from you like that. Hugs to you too ANH, and to ES and his classmates, a tough time for all concerned

KimmyCustard
What a shock and so very sad. Hope they can find an explaination for it, although I'm not sure that would help how everyone feels. Sending hugs to ES and his pals at school (and to you). sparkysmum
Vicki, How absolutely terrible. It's so awful when a young life is taken like that - nothing can prepare you for the shock and the seeming unfairness of it all. He had all his life in front of him and I think it is the not knowing how his life might have been which is so hard for everyone to bear. I will keep you all in my thoughts. Olly
How awful. Even for those who didn't know her, a death like this has an impact. It's right that we should all pause for a moment and think of her family; life is precious, and we should both mourn the passing of it, and celebrate it. Ms Marple
This happens more often than we realise and is made especially hard when it gets close to us- like this for you ANH. Hug yours close and tell them you love them. That can never be said enough times. We nearly lost YS when he was 8, I hug them all the more as a result. My thoughts are with you. Couperman
My sympathies go out to anyone who has to deal with a tragedy such as this. It is devastating enough to lose someone who has had a 'fair crack of the whip', but to have a young life extinguished in its prime is simply not fair, I cannot imagine how awful that feels and I hope I never find out. RIP Kev.

..lay a little egg for me
That's just awful...it is just such a huge shock when it happens to someone so young and apparently healthy. It makes us realize how fragile life can be. My thoughts are with her family and all affected by this dreadful news.

RIP Kev. I totally agree this has really shocked and saddened me. My granddad died at the weekend aged 93 and to be honest it is a relief as he has been very ill although many tears have been and still will be shed. I do have religion (although I don't practice as much as I could!) but its events such as this poor girls life that really make me question it! Lots of love and sympathies to everyone who was in her life
tweecy
What can anyone say, it's so desperately tragic. Makes you think of the loved ones who are with us, and appreciate how much they mean to us and how lucky we all are to have them.

Fur 'n' Feathers
Just caught up with this ANH. I remember a guy in my group of friends dying of an asthma attack while washing his hair.
