Gurkha petition

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has seen the petition to the Government for the Gurkhas? I have signed because they used to be based near here and I think it is terrible to treat them so badly.

Anyone interested the petition is at:

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Gurkha-soldiers/

Over 30,000 signatures so far and the deadline is 26th November.

Ive signed Koojie.

I was reading this the other day and I think that these brave men have earned the right to live here. If Gurkha's post 1997 can stay, why not those before?

We have so many people in this country who should be deported over these "Ooops, word censored!"le and courageous men.

I agree Phonix - I saw that poor old fellow on the news last night - goodness knows how old he is, but he must be well over the 100 mark to have fought in both world wars, even if he was a little boy at the time - fancy having to go through the courts to prove your attachment to this country when it had been so well documented. My grandad was in the first world war and said he was 18 to get in the Royal Artillery when he was only 16 - he was born in 1896! He missed the second because he was gassed in the trenches so not fit for active duty - but then he joined Dad's Army instead! Then you look at the news and see some, er Europeans, who set up crime rings all over the country and you have to wonder why they are allowed to stay! Absolutely shameful that they even had to put a year limit on these brave people in the first place.

Round of applause to Joanna Lumley!

Oh dear, better take the tablets before I go on too much!!

I've signed, these are people who have fought for our country - they deserve so much more than this government is willing to give them. So many more less deserving people seem to be allowed to remain here and claim benefits - how dare the government treat brave men in such a way, kick out the criminals and those who incite racial tensions and let the Gurkhas stay.

This is so outrageous. I went to an army school in Hong Kong, and the absolutely gorgeous gurkhas used to have to drive our school busses (and make the teenaged girls swoon1)

These guys were lovely, and completely part of the UK forces as far as I could see. Their kids went to the forces school, I never realised that they were any different.

They are part of our forces, they should have the same rights! :x
