Oh no....you poor thing.

I wish you had mentioned it before you went......I would have done my best to dissuade you.

My daughters friend was sooooooo ill after having hers done a few years ago.

She fainted and banged her head too and had to be admitted to hospital. Twice. Once for the head injury and once for the septicaemia.

I hope you are feeling a lot better. Do keep an eye on it.

Edited for typos.

Oh my goodness, you poor thing. What a horrible experience. I'm glad you're able to see that your parents weren't just being party poopers by saying that it wasn't a good idea though but what a horrible way to find out that they were right. Keep an eye on your tongue to make sure it heals up nicely and buy a nice book or a DVD next time you have some spare money  . It's much less painful  .

Oooh poor you :(

Just be really careful that you don't get an infection. The first bits to heal are (usually) the outsides of the hole so sometimes nastiness can be sealed inside and go a bit grotty. I know this has happened to people when they have removed other piercings such as belly button rings. Hopefully your tongue piercing wasn't in long enough for any of this to happen!! Sorry, don't want to worry you, just keep a careful eye on it! At least the tongue heals really really quickly.

[i never listened to my parents about piercings....used to pierce my own ears though :lol: ]

At least the paramedic was worth looking at!!!

Poor you! :( I'll bet its very sore! Have you tried washing your mouth with some warm water with a couple of drops of tea tree? Should keep the nasties down but dont swallow it!!

This reminds me of my son...went to Manchester to see his girlfriend and came back with a tattoo 3 weeks later  But that wasnt quite the end of it.. the next time he went he had only just had his lip pierced(much against my advice-he has always had very sensitive skin. When he got back, after 3 weeks away, it wasn't there.Surprise!! He had ended up in the local hospital to have it taken out as it had sweeled up soo much you couldnt see it!! :shock:4 hours away from septicaemia they told him!

Then he owned up that the tatto hadnt sdettled down for ages and his arm had swollen right up too!

Kids-they dont listen  but he's learnt his lesson now  DD has just had a bar in her wrist removed (ewwww)as it hadnt settled down after 4 months even with copius amounts od tea tree and lavender.

, so its not just you who it went wrong for..think of it as a learning curve...

lessons learned eh

tattoos - hmm , theres a story.

i know a guy who had a tattoo of his girlfriends nickname accross his back (letters were about 3 inches high  ) anyway, she saw it, freaked out and dumped him.

they had only been together for a month

a tattoo is for life - i dont have one as I dont know what i would want to live with forever.

I dont hate them though - some look good :D

A bar in her wrist????

Sorry this has made me laugh ... my niece aged 15 got a bar through her wrist, concealed it from her mum for ages with sweat bands, long sleeves etc. Eventually my sister found out, and was worried that it might be infected so took her to the doctor. Doctor pondered it a bit, and then said 'Well, it's not an ideal place to have it."

To which my sister responded "No? Well, where would you suggest she had it then?!"

She's since had that removed, but now has studs in bottom and top lip, and has made one of those hideous 'flesh tunnels' in her ear .... that's never going to close up.

My sister blames me, I had my first tattoo at 40 ...

Sorry to hear about your weekend Scramble, but it has made me laugh! Hope it's all healing up ok, and I'm glad your parents had the sense not to get mad at you.
