Ardene5
Beautiful sunny breezy morning here in Preesall. Compared with the very wet night we had last night garden soak away moat has worked well so garden at the moment is not flooded. Hens free ranging if they want to, lets hope we have a nice day. But the down side of this is that nice days usually mean cold nights as there is little or no cloud during Autumn or Winter. Ardene5
Well the forecast for this evening says it is going to be cool. With a high of 43 degrees F with a light wind from the south. Then tomorrow from about 7 a.m sun with just a bit of cloud becoming warmer but a chance of if becoming cloudy later on. Friday & Saturday there is a chance of rain and a high of 60 degrees F. This forecast is for Blackpool and the surrounding areas of Lancashire. So there you have it, I have read it somewhere that it is supposed to be good this weekend but it is the old, old story where you live means you'll get the right weather or not! Where ever you are have a hopefully nice day what ever the weather throws at you. Ardene5
Well it started off here not to bad after a heavy dew. Became very sunny but as the day went on so the clouds came in and now it is raining. Glad we do not live in Scotland as it looks like they are having bad weather again. They have already had snow in the Highlands now it is wall to wall rain just wish we could change all this rain to snow then we could all have something nice around better than the doom and gloom on the TV, but thats is enough about the doom and gloom. We are happy when we are with are children , dogs & hens. KimmyCustard
Been to work then gardened for two hours! Lots of lawn mowing going on and some building sounds around here, think sheds are being made water tight before it rains again! Found lots of small holes in the lawn, think its that pesky grey squirrel hiding his nuts again - Very foggy at 9am though but all burnt off by 10am. chickencam
It was so warm yesterday even in the evening and overnight we did loads of gardening over the weekend, and had salad for tea last night with the last of the tomatoes and cumcumber and lettuce from the garden. Was very dull here first thing then it got dark and now the sun is coming out, off to put the washing out and let the chooks out
Ardene5
Monday morning woke up to a drizzly morning but by 10 a.m it has stopped. So walked our two boxer dogs, the air felt damp but the was a breeze and then the sun came out. The rest of the day was nice but with no cloud cover this evening it is going to be cold again this evening. Tuesday and Wednesday is meant to be light rain the later a bit of sun but only time will tell. abwsco
Is anyone else being plagued by mossies We've had lots in the garden over the last couple of weeks and also some in the house. At least in the garden the chickens have enjoyed trying to catch them.

Ardene5
Yesterday here it was wall to wall rain and it is the same forecast for today. I just hope that those of you who have hens that last month were suffering with mud bath run do not have the rain because it will causes you more problems than you need. Perhaps if you are still trying to keep the hens dry in a run you could connect the elgu or cube run to the side of a shed this way they who have the best of both worlds! Best regards Ian Ian & Valerie William & Harry Missy & Millie Dogs 9 Lovely Hens Henian Castle with inside as all hens have decided to live in The Cube. The castle is 20 ft long x 10 feet wide x 6 feet high, it was raised 7 inches to stop hopefully any flooding. Also it has a raised path from the patio to the castle, so hopefully no wet feet and on dry days the hens free range.
Ardene5
Well when I asked the question ....... Is Winter coming early..... think I should have asked the question ...... what season tomorrow .... as I'm in my shorts today. No two days here (in Preesall near Blackpool) are the same. What or how would you suggest for the place where you live. Best regards Ian Ian & Valerie William & Harry Missy & Millie dogs 9 lovely hens Henian Castle with inside ( 20 ft x 10 ft x 6 ft).
