Omletina Kyckling
Well, the time has come around very quickly, but tomorrow I'm off to Sweden. I get the redeye flight from Stansted to Göteborg to meet up with hubby then we load up the Land Rover tomorrow night, sleep on his apartment floor (yes, really....). Saturday morning we take the 8am ferry across to Denmark then we have about a five hour drive through to Esbjerg to take the 18.15 ferry to Harwich, arriving midday Sunday and then back home. I'm looking forward to it but have a lot of trepidation about the whole thing. I'm feeling a bit sick with worry/stress, partly because mum and dad are coming down to chicken/cat/house sit and I hate being away from home. It's made worse with having Åsa and her broken leg....worry worry worry!! I think we will both be quite stressed and tired too and I just hope we don't end up getting fractious!! Anyway, after tonight I'll be out of forum reach until Monday (how will I cope?!!) although I've promised Snowy to keep her informed via text so I won't be totally away! A chickychickychick-ENN!!
You sound so organised I am sure it will all go well. How about making a 'camp' on the floor of the apartment? Candles, blankets, music, something nice to eat and drink - to make it seem more special and less scary? Good luck, good luck and Omlety love! Omletina Kyckling
I'm back!! Can you see me waving?! All went well, had a nice day in Gothenburg on Friday, didn't do very much shopping, but met a friend for coffee and a kanelbullar (cinnamon bun, bready thing, very tasty!) I managed to get some sleep on hubby's floor (think I was so tired I could have slept standing up). We had a good drive through Denmark and our Landy performed brilliantly (it was full to the roof and stuff on the roofrack too!)....the ferry crossing from Esbjerg to Harwich was very rough indeed, but we are both good sailors so it didn't bother us....we had a decent drive back home on Sunday and were home in time for afternoon tea!! All was well when we got home, even though we came back to heavy rain and high winds! Åsa went to the vet yesterday and they said she was doing very well and wouldn't see her again until Thursday, but I just found her splint lying in the Eglu so she's been back today for a new splint. She's hopping about now though, so I had nothing to worry about. We just have to unpack all hubby's things and find homes for them now....hmmmm... I missed the forum!
