You know its the school hols when..

Recommended Posts

1 you fall over a pile of bags and blazers on the hall floor

2 You are greated by a houseful of spotty, lanky youths wanting food!

3 You realise the weekly shop and dinner for today wont stretch to 8!! :?

4 You spend a good hour in the freezer looking for veggie burgers, nut free egg free food and wishing you could put a CLOSED sign on the kitchen :D

SOUND FAMILIAR?

I'm a Nursery Nurse and Portage Worker and I had my first glass of wine (well half a glass, the remains of a bottle of white) at 5.15. More wine chilling as we speak!

All my jobs are term time only and I have no idea how anybody manages to do a 'normal' job without school holidays!

First glass was in hand by 3pm. Someone was retiring and we hot footed it down there the very SECOND we realised there was "drinkies" Up until then we had sat in the staffroom scoffing some very yummy mini eggs that I confiscated this morning. My HOD was just commenting on what lovely eggs "mr cadbury" lays when someone mentioned drinkies....

Actually we should get this thread locked we are revealing lots of teachers secrets....

Confiscating very yummy items that we KNOW the kids won't come back for (if she asks after the holidays I left them in the sun so threw them away  - she was tryint to eat them in my lesson at 9am this morning!)

Teachers and wine - say no more.

And they wonder why we drink GALLONS of coffee all day (or is that JUST me??)

E has had a week off already and we've had great weather so had loads of fun. Unfortunately with all the other schools off now we'll have to hope the good weather remains unti everyone else goes back. We'll still have a few days after that left to visit Legoland etc.

It no longer looks like "Park and Ride" outside your house.

Oh I can so sympathise with this one! I always make sure any plans I make do not involve leaving or returning home around either 9am or 3.30pm. One of the joys of living opposite the school!
