ClaireG
As i posted before i have been having a lot of problems since i had to increase the dose of my diabetic meds. I spoke to a Dr on Wednesday night as i was having a lot of rather unpleasent side effects. He told me to continue with the meds and that the side effects should be short lived. Friday, i was a lot better so thought i was over it. Yesterday morning, my headache had returned but i wasn't having to run to the loo every five minutes We went to view a house late yesterday afternnon and by the time i came home i was feeling awful. Myb headache was a lot worse and i kept being sick and felt really dizzy. DH rang the out of hours Dr, who after speaking to him told him to take me to A&E. Luckily, for a Saturday night it wasn't too busy. I had to have lots of bloods taken and was given an ECG. They decided to admit me overnight as my blood sugar levels were high. I was put on a drip as had become dehydrated due to the sickness. My blood sugars were better this morning and i have stopped being sick so have been let home but have to go back to reduced dose of meds and go to Drs on Tuesday. Am now crossing my fingers my blood sugars don't go sky high again as there was talk of insulin

Space Chick
Sending you lots of hugs Claire. Its a dreadful illness is diabetes. It runs in my family but (she touches lots of wood) I haven't got it..... yet. My Mum had terrible problems when she was on the tablets (Metphormin I think) but when she went on the insulin jabs it became much better. She was really upset when she had to go on the injections, but took to it really quickly, and said that it was a blessing in disguise as she felt much better. Sadly, we lost her 8 1/2 years ago (not due to the diabetes I hasten to add), but she was on the injections for a few years and had a much better standard of life than she'd previously had on the tablets. Hope you feel better soon. Debs

kitchens
Hubby injects 4 times a day. He is so very good and takes it all in his stride but he still has to be very careful with the low blood sugar. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't come to that for you. Positive thinking. Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday and relax about it. Sheilaz
Poor you, and the main thing is to get it sorted. If insulin is necessary don't be alarmed. Despite a healthy lifestyle, my Mother has been insulin dependent for 34 years and it has never stopped her doing anything. Even at 84 she's one of the healthiest people I know. Sorry you've been so rough, hope the meds. are soon right. Best wishes.

LisaP
Just catching up after the weekend and I'm sorry to see that your medication has caused you such problems. Don't know anything about diabetes, so won't presume to comment on that but I do hope you get to see your GP today and get this sorted out. In the meantime I am able to send you (HUGS).
