What's The Oddest Thing

Recommended Posts

My radiation monitoring badge has regularly had a spin in the washing machine rendering it useless as the heat fogs the film inside it.

Lots of coins, bits of "important" paper in OH work trousers, cigarette lighters and tissues of course.

A candle once melted all over the table cloth and in my haste to clean it up I just bunged the cloth in the machine.

I was picking congealed wax out of the machine and off clothes for months!

My asthma inhalers often have a wash too in our house. Probably does them good to be honest :D

The worst thing was one of my husband's cigarette lighters that got broken in the machine. Everything smelt awful and I was convinced that it would wreck all the clothes and the machine, but i stopped the cycle removed it, rewashed everthing and it was fine.

My son got a new phone for his birthday a month ago and it is his pride and joy. He told me the other day that he stuffed it in the washing machine in his trouser pocket but fortunately remembered before I had got round to putting the machine on. This only happened a couple of days after he got the phone he would have been devestated had it been broken.

I have to be pretty careful there, because my lot love Babybel cheese and have a habit of using their pockets as bins

At least its not the floor!

When I was in Australia I found $15AUS in the washing machine.

A disposable nappy. Twice.

After the first cycle I noticed 'stuff' on the clothes so in my wisdom  decided to rung another cycle.

In case anyone ever decides to do this, don't.

The devastation caused by the gel crystals made me weep.

Ive done this. Luckily I use gelless nappies. Even more glad of that fact now :)

I washed my ES's Ipod nano last month, it doesn't work now :(

I've also washed his train season ticket, it survived, but he's now lost it!

I find various nuts and bolts from his clothes after I've washed them as well (he's an engineer).

I had been to the toilet the other day and as I stood up this huge bolt landed on the floor - I shouted 'no' thinking the toilet was about to fall over (not the first time this would have happened to me  ) but it was just another one of his accessories that he'd left on the side of the sink! Bless

Not particulary odd but I have washed Natalie's Ipod, Natalie's mobile phone, Natalie's school bus pass and Natalie's stick thingy that goes in the side of the PC. I wish Natalie would empty her pockets before shoving her clothes in the laundry basket. I suppose I should be grateful she does put her clothes in the basket.
