Cubes had only just come out when I started chicken keeping, but I hankered after one all the same, but thought I'd better start off small

I was back to front. I bought a cube first, knowing I'd want more than 3 chickens. I've just bought an eglu to grow our table birds in. I still browse ebay and the forum at ones for sale, just in case

I did. I got my Eglu in June 2004 and upgraded to a Cube but I can't remember when that was. I was the second delivery on the first day they went out though .

Me. *Puts hand up* Not so much an upgrade though as an additional bit of kit as I have a cube and 2 Eglus in use at the mo....plus a couple of spares.

I won't be unless I can win the lottery and move house I saw one and feel it's just too big for my garden. We are hoping to build a walk in run this year which will be about 3m x 3.5m and I'll get 2 more girls in the eglu. I do love the eglu though and if another comes up at the right price... I'd have it like a shot!

That would be really silly, of course - the obvious solution is to get some more chickens to make it worthwhile having the Cube!

I bought a in 2004, after the 'cockeral of fate' led to the 'chickens of unable to resist'. I have just upgraded to a - plan was to sell the to fund the , but now I can't face getting rid of the . It's just too stylish - like a classic car. No good for a large family, but a thing of beauty on its own

Yes, I have one extension. Omlet say the Cube and standard run is ok for up to six chickens, but mine don't get a lot of free-ranging time so I prefer them to have more space. A WIR will add about another square metre or so of space, when I get round to it.

had an Eglu for a suprise Birthday present June 2007, bought a Cube in the following March and sold the original Eglu through this forum the day that I advertised it.

I haven't and I don't think I will. I am not tempted by the cube. I love the look of the eglu and if I get more chooks I will just buy another. I think that this is more versitile, it means I can either have 2 eglus in my WIR or if I had little ones I could have a eglu set up separately as a 'nursery' then move it into the WIR when babies are big enough.

I also did it in reverse, I ought the cube lat year and the eglu earlier this year, I love tyem both, Ilove the cube for the practicality and I just love the eglu. eventually I am hoping to mix all the big girls in the cube and get some banties for the eglu.

I sort of upgraded...I originally wanted a cube, but they were not available in the US so I got an instead. As soon as the cube became available in the US I placed my order with the thoughts I would keep the eglu as a nursery, hospital, or for isolation. Unfortunatly my well thought out plan changed when I moved house (much smaller garden) and had to sell my original eglu.

Me Too I started with a then purchased another because we did not have the cube available to us. Then Omlet started shipping the cubes to the USA and I ordered a it has just arrived so I guess I have the first Omlet Village in the USA, wonderful products I wouldn't have chickens without them.

Me too, I got in May 2008 then the chooks in June, then I bought the in about October/November 2008 ready for the batties who arrived in January. I thought my Omlet family complete....then I agreed to adopt the Orpies with their in early January this year...that went aside as the previous owners decided to "try again" with keeping them....so ordered a with the intention of the & moving into the bigger house with & selling one of the eglus. Arrived....and the Orpies came to us anyway with .

 

In Feb went out on loan with a view to being sold to a friend to house his impulse buy bantums. He still hasn't bought it, nor do I have it back...they are now renting it for a while! The is home to the Batties and the original 3 have moved in with the Orpies...and the little Smurf is ready & waiting to be a sinbin, hospital wing...or new home, hee hee !!!!!
