Just a little BeckyBoo update....

Recommended Posts

.....as I don't seem to get on here as much as I did. Just to say again thank-you, to everyone who posted, read, didn't get fed up and sent me best wishes during a really hard time in my life. I genuinely don't think I'd have got through so well without having somewhere neutral to write it all down and without people replying and saying I wasn't over-reacting, or going mad! :roll:

So just to say that I am now happier than I've been for a long time. The house is very very slowly coming together (although a lot of the repairs are beyond my skills and therefore have to wait til I've saved up!) Through overtime and juggling I am now happy to say that apart from one small matter and the mortgage I don't owe anyone ANYTHING!! It took some doing but I did it ALL BY MYSELF!! My garden is coming together, my hens are happy, my dog has finished her upset stomach (at 9 stone 9lb you don't want to know what an overnight "accident" from her looks like, never mind three at once!) My cat has forgiven me for the two interlopers and my fish tank is fixed (re-siliconed by ME when it sprang a leak as I was on my way out of the door for the school run :wall: - STILL got the kids to school on time and was only 1/2 an hour late for work!!) :dance:

I'm about to book a week in a caravan by the coast for me and the kids AND the dog in the first week of the holidays - paid for in cash by me - no debts here please! :dance:

And best of all, now we're over all the hatred and we've both moved on a fair bit, the ex and I no longer need to shout, or hate, or bicker anymore (occasionally I get reminded just WHY we parted!) but he sees the children EVERY Thursday after school, Every Sunday and every other weekend they get a sleep-over so I can work extra hours. So they see him a lot, he's paying for them (a bit) and life is good.

I'm waiting for the big bill I've forgotten about, or the roof to fall in (well, small boy did flood the bathroom twice in a week so all the water poured through the dining room ceiling! :doh: ) because sometimes, like now when I've JUST sat down and JUST had my tea, or when I'm up at 6 making packed lunch, in other words when it's quiet and peaceful, I find myself so happy and contented. And I KNOW I said this was a "little" update, but I always ramble on :roll: and I just wanted to know that I appreciated every word that was written to me, and whoever sent that anonymous gift, your reward will be in heaven (and I've still got some left for a special occasion!!)

Thanks again guys :clap::clap:

So glad to hear you're coming out the other side of that long dark place, no doubt there will be ups and downs but it's great to hear you sounding so positive. You clearly feel a huge sense of satisfaction from having done this ON YOUR OWN, and I can empathise with that!

There are lots of good times ahead, and now you've got this far if you do hit a dip in the rollercoaster you can always look back and think 'well I coped with that, I can cope with this'.

PS Glad to hear the dog is better ... :vom:

Good for you Bex - from someone who knows - it's a lovely feeling, isn't it?

Try Tree Barks Powder from Dorwest Herbs for the pooch - I always have some in stock and it's great for their dicky tums. Fortunately Rubes isn't bad on that front.

Thanks, might try that, it's the second time I've had to take her to the vet for it, she has a fondness for chicken poo, compost and, despite having a bowl of fresh water in the garden and one inside, she insists on drinking any puddles from the sandpit and the water from the water butt! :roll::wall:

I'd forgotten about the tree bark, even if mine are on "nil by mouth" following ghastly tummy upsets, I find a good dose of TB with a spoonful of natural/live yoghurt works wonders.

Being labs they eat anything & everything (even fussy pants Jess!)...and the louder mummy shrieks the better it must be :vom::vom::vom:
