Please think of me this afternoon...

Recommended Posts

I'm having a small operation on my hand this afternoon under local anaesthetic and am just tucking in to my last allowed food (tea and toast). I'm assuming I have to fast just in case they need to proceed to a general anaesthetic. :anxious:

I don't know the exact time of my op, so general good luck vibes sometime this afternoon would be much appreciated. As a retired nurse, I'm probably not the best patient in the world.

I'm taking my "Guide to Bees and Honey" book to while away the waiting time. :D

Very best of luck :)

If it's carpal tunnel syndrome..........it's a doddle. Takes about 6 minutes :!:

I had both hands done for that about 10 years ago!

This time it was a very annoying ganglion that I've had on my right wrist for about 5 years and showed no sign of going away by itself. The surgical process was very similar to the one for CTS, and quite quick. The worst bit is the pressure cuff that cuts off your circulation, but the sedation took the edge off that. :D

I have some very effective painkillers so no complaints really, other than it is hampering my chook routine, trying to do it one-handed. The girls are making no allowances for my incapacity.

Thanks for all the vibes, folks. :D

An operation sounds like a more effective remedy than whacking it with a big book as a doctor friend advised my son to do!!

I hope that you regain full use of your hand soon!
