I never thought I had until a friend emailed me this picture of an Italian government minister (predictably, she used to be a topless model )

That's a startling likeness, Claret . I'm glad you chose a shot of her as a Government minister rather than in her previous job .

 

I've lost count of the number of times people say I look just like someone they know (it's never anyone famous ). I must just have a common face .

 

Actually, on reflection, when I met my birth mother for the first time about 5 years ago, her family and friends were stunned how like her I look. People who knew her but hadn't met me yet, knew who I was without being told. (Not surprising really, but her "other" kids bore no resemblance to her whatsoever! At least they knew I wasn't an imposter .)

When she was a topless model, she had long hair. I did too 20 years ago - waist-length - but looked nothing like she was then.

Twice in the last month I have been asked if I have a sister as both people thought that I was identical (in looks and mannerisms apparently) to someone that they knew. "Ooops, word censored!"ody famous - like ANH I seem to have a common face!

I look rather like Renée Zellweger.... when she's at her roundest Bridget Jones!! Sorry can't supply a pic - have successfully avoided the camera for a number of years!!

I am supposed to look just like Helen Mirren. Now don't get me wrong, she is gorgeous...but 20 years older than me!

 

It has followed me about for around 20 years and sometimes I agree, sometimes not....but in my job I even have judges telling me and once a defendant asked me if I used to be a police officer I replied no, that was on the telly and this is real court!

 

But, like Claret, I have never done the more risquee things she has done! Will try and dig out a picture for you...and edit when I have!

I remember seeing my double walking down the street on the opposite side of the road to me a few years ago. I had to do a double take. I was also at school picing up my kids and I thought whats my sister doing here? I was about to say hello, when I realised it wasn't her!

 

But she does look very much like you in the photo.

Yes it did but funnily enough we were near him for a while and looking directly at him before it occured to me that something was very wrong

I once walked past the hall mirror at my parents and thought "Why is my sister wearing my jumper?" I was 2 steps further on before I realised what I had just thought!

We have both been stopped by people we don't know, who think we are the other one!

If strangers say "Hello" we just say hello back!

 

She's 3" shorter and much prettier than me! we aren't exactly alike at all!

Many years ago I discovered that some guy had spent an entire evening hiding from me in a night club because I looked so much like someone he had stood up the night before

 

( I later met the girl in question and we did look very alike considering we were not related in any way (as far as I know!) )

I was always likened to Rula Lenska many moons ago but unfortunately she has weathered better than me

 

When I was in amateur dramatics (again a long time ago) I played a part where The local rag reckoned I was a dead ringer for Princess Anne

 

If only I had their income, I might have been able to be like that now

When I went to Montecute many moons ago they had a portrait gallery of really old paintings for an exhibition. One caught my eye and I had to keep going back to it. Unfortunately I couldn't remember who it looked like and the subject was of an unknown woman. When I went back to work I found it was our messenger lady - it could have been a photograph the likeness was uncanny.

When DS was 16 and had his prom we obviously made him have his photo taken. Mum has it on her cabinet next to one of my dad in his sailor's outfit at age 18. They could be taken for identical twins! Thankfully DS doesn't look like MIL!

As for me, I didn't think there would be room on the planet for two of me!

Personally I can't see the resemblance (although I do own a pair of VERY big knickers).
