jlo
OK - I know that it is supposed to be fifteen minutes but mine was literally 15 seconds!! I was on Woman's Minute tonight on the Chris Evans show I am sure that I made a complete wally of myself but - hey ho - I am now at an age when I don't care. Just wondered if any other Omleteers have had 15 seconds (or more!!) of fame!

Valkyrie
Dang, missed it. OH had a TV documentary done on his life in the Scouts - for Japanese TV - we have it on a big reel and I've never seen it. 2 years before we met - he was 14 when it was filmed. The video for The Blackout that DD was at doesn't have her in it. She said it was a waste of a few hours of her life. I told her that to be fair she did have a free concert (even if the song was played over again many times - but as a thank you they played all the other songs for their fans). Me - never, unless you count my hand holding our video camera on the wall in Time Team when they were at Old Basing House (I was shorter than the wall ). Olly
sorry I missed it! I was once interviewed on BBC News about a charity that I'm involved in. It lasted about 3 minutes and was on at 8.00 am ... on a Sunday! My loyal friends got up early to watch it, and I'd texted everyone I could think of, but my brother was on holiday somewhere without a mobile signal. He was just making a cup of tea, having left my SIL in bed watching the news, when she tore into the kitchen yelling 'Your sister's on the telly!'. He said he's never known her get out of bed before her cup of tea before PS the BBC makeup woman was marvellous, I have never looked so good! Space Chick
Just listened on Listen again JLo and you were great In answer to your question, I am embarrassed to say that I have had several moments of fame over the years including Blue Peter aged 15, Watchdog about 5 years ago, The Money Programme about 3 years ago and MasterChef this year
Olly
MasterChef? Were you a contestant?
Mrs Webmuppet
I've not had any minutes of fame, however, Little Miss Webmuppet was in the sailing mags a few years ago 'cause she won a dinghy ( she had her pic taken with the boss of the RYA and her new dinghy) she also features on the leaflet for the 2007 Dinghy Sailing show. She still claims she is famous!
Alis girls
My OH was in the Archers last year in a crowd scene - shouting "Hooray" and we all - kids included listened in. he works on their website. How sad is that
Busybird
Mine didn't even last 15 seconds Many, many years ago an episode of Brookside was filmed in Belfast and they changed the opening shots (the ones they show when the theme music is playing) to some aerial views of Belfast city centre panning down to the front of the City Hall - where I was strolling along with my then boyfriend, totally oblivious to the fact that we were being filmed Apparently the camera followed us for some time (in TV terms that probably isn't very long). I have no idea what we were doing as I have never seen it I only found out about it when my amazed friends told me that I was 'starring' in Brookside and wanted to know how I had been chosen I now use that 'claim to fame' when my children talk of so called celebrities. Well, I've been on the telly so I must be a celebrity

Seagazer
Well OH and I were at a wedding at the weekend at St. Paul's Cathedral and the tourists were taking photos of us all. They must have thought it was someone famous. It was hilarious (best wedding I've ever been to by the way) My OH and DD were on Top Gear at the front when they do the race through London by bike, public transport, car and boat. Our reply wasn't broadcast

Patricia W
My son and his wife Carrie live in Australia. Last year, Carrie mangled her finger in a blender ( ouch!) so they went to A and E where a film crew was fliming a programme called " Medical Emergencies". Well, yesterday my sister ( who lives in Essex) phoned to say she'd seen them both on Sky 3! And then a friend in America emailed to say he'd seen it! As Carrie was in agony she wasn't best pleased for this to be her 15 mins of fame. Tricia
Space Chick
Sorry guys, been at work So Olly and BlackRocksRock yes I was a contestant on this years masterchef, although I didn't get past Day 1 It was a close thing between me and another girl and they chose the other girl. I wasn't one that they instantly discarded though It was a terrifying experience, and very different from cooking at home

A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Was on Def 2 a very long time ago, have been on the TV and radio news a few times talking about very random things, caught a carrot that a sword swallower cut on the Graham Norton show and was on a Dale Winton thing I've forgotten the name of. Have been in the papers a few times with more very random things, which brings me up to around 8.37 minutes or maybe 9.52 of my 15 I reckon. Janty
I have been on : Wish You Were Here - nowhere exotic. It was when they were looking at city breaks. I was walking with Mum and Dad through Croxteth Country Park in Liverpool and they asked if they could film us. Then they said that we didn't look like a 'proper' family because there was just me so they asked if a boy could walk with us...cheek! Radio Suffolk - talking about the flooding where I used to live. London tv evening news - didn't know I was going to be on. They filmed a tube train coming into the station, the doors opened and there I was. Anglia news - protesting about the rotten Suffolk council closing our middle schools. Anglia news - walking away from a court case that I had to testify in. Local papers on at least ten occasions when my hen escaped, when Lowestoft Town brought the cup home and to do with the court case, etc. And, last but by every means least The scummy News pf the World - again to do with the court case. I'm having a rest now.
