Busybird
When the children get home from school today it is the start of the half term break Why then have I spent today tidying and cleaning their bedrooms and sorting out all the lego and warhammer that litters the playroom? I expect it will be back to it's usual state by bedtime Still, things to look forward to: - Not having to get up at 7am to make sure the older two are ready to leave for their bus - Not having to spend the afternoons nagging them to do their homework - Finishing the break with 5 days at Centerparcs And I will try really hard to put from my mind entirely the awful 'family' dinner we have to go to with the in laws when we get back... I also can't wait to not have to get up early (even though I always do) No cooking for the 9 days we are there!!! We are spending the day in Longleat on Friday as every time we drive past on the way to Devon OH always says he wants to go. YS has teacher training day so thats it, off we go. Lots of walking to look forward to, great nights spent with my brother and SIL and general relaxing. chickencam
My DS breaks up today, he has had a miserable week because most of his year have gone on a trip to Germany, but there weren't enough places for all so about 10 people are left in in his class, all of whom he doesn't get on with. I have a day with him to myself tomorrow, which is a rare event, so that should be good then we are off to Wales for a week on Friday. Mrs Webmuppet
Not sure what we are going to do for half term yet apart from one morning when LMW is going on a needlework workshop for kids. A lot depends on how tired she is and what the weather is doing.

Mother-in-law is having a belated 50th birthday party. I would look forward to not getting up early to walk to school, but my 2 don't understand lay-ins. ubereglu
I technically finished half term at 12:15pm today, but stayed on to finish an art piece, so didn't actually get home until 3:30pm. I'm looking forward to the lie-ins! It's my parents anniversary today, (31 years) and it's Mum's birthday tomorrow. Also my friend is having her birthday do tomorrow evening! During next week I'm going to Southampton too to go and see my brother and one of my sisters, whom I haven't seen since August! The only downside is the amount of work I have to do... Physics presentation and test Maths worksheet Biology questions Art mindmap Oh, well, I'll try and finish it by Sunday, then I'll get most of the week free! ali-s
Boarding school finishes on Friday morning, the students will be leaving between 4am and 6 am for various destinations around the world. I have a weeks holiday too and am going to Edinburgh next Friday for a couple of days DD Natalie is nearing the end of her two weeks half term holiday so back to school on Monday. This poses a problem as she will have to have Friday off school to join OH and myself on our weekend away. The boarding school always has the English school holidays which do not coincide with Scottish school holidays
Karen & co.
I finished today as I only work 3 days, and all the children break up Friday I love having them at home Karen x
Happy chickens!
Have a great time going on hols if you're going, lucky things. We're going to be quiet, but just no alarm going off will be lovely. Mine don't like being organised much, so just like a fair bit of mooching, more omlet time for me! Minnie&Moose
Sadly university terms don't coincide with school terms so whilst my other half swans off to Singapore and Hong Kong for work I will continue to work 9am-stupid oclock, and inbetween lectures, meetings, and supervisions, will hurtle around the town shuttling my 9 yr old from one day-care arrangment to the next - I hate half-terms! Moi, bitter? Too right!
Sunshine
We are off to Somerset next week. My dad's family live in that area so we are planning to visit them so i can quiz them about our family tree. Taking Lola with us so she can have lots of fun on the beaches down there. jlo
DD and DS are off to Camp Beaumont on the Isle of Wight for a kids' activities' week. I think that they are looking forward to it. It will be odd without them around though
Paddy
Straight after school on friday night - we are heading up to North Wales with some friends to spend half term with all the children. We are so lucky - having had children a little later, me and the other half both had a house each, one of which we sold this year to get a lovely house for weekends away. I have just found out that both sets of my grandfathers worked in the slate mines up there so we are going to see if we can find where they lived and died from the parish records! I have been all round Britain and love it - but I absolutely love North Wales and driving through the valleys! Children will be in their wetsuits in the sea!
